Exclusive: "Will come to India as the WWE Champion" - New WWE World Champion Sheamus

Sheamus promises to be WWE champion when he comes to India

Sheamus shocked the whole world at Survivor Series when he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. The Celtic Warrior, kicked off his fourth WWE Championship reign thanks to this and the title change went on the break the Internet.

There was a huge backlash on WWE due to the whole situation but as far as Sheamus is concerned, it is his opportunity to reclaim his place in the main event scenario. With names like Seth Rollins, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Cesaro out for a lengthy period, the landscape is in the favor of Sheamus and Sportskeeda managed to catch up with him after his WWE championship win.

Sheamus talked about his upcoming visit to India and much more during the media call.

About his upcoming visit to India

I can't wait. I've never been to India. There is a lot of countries I've been to around the World during my time in WWE . India is one of the countries I've never been to but I'm really excited and I always heard some great things from The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal when he was here and I'm really excited to get over there and perform.

The Indian fans are very very passionate about WWE and as I said, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I'm excited. And I'll be coming over as the WWE champion.

Message for his fans in India

Just a note that we are all pumped to go there (India) and all the boys are excited and we will put together the greatest show you have ever seen when we are there.

Sheamus also took questions from other journalists about a string of topics.

On the pressure of being the champion

This is my fourth Championship reign. I've been here before, I've faced a lot of scrutiny and seen everyone as a heel and a baby face. I've been rearing to go ever since I won the Money in the Bank contract.

As far as pressure goes, there is always pressure but I actually look forward to that because it's something I've been looking forward to. It is a different part of my career now as I'm six years in.

When I first came to WWE, everything happened so quickly. I was booked with Cena, Orton and Triple H and I had to learn on the fly. There was a huge pressure on me back then, but I'm more comfortable now because I know what I'm doing.

Sheamus also noted that he celebrated his WWE championship win with a four-hour drive to Nashville.

Thoughts about the Irish Take Over

Pound for pound, the Irish are the greatest fighters in the planet. Finn Balor and myself were on the European tour for WWE and we wrestled each other throughout the first week and the matches we had was simply great.

It was great to be there with him and the future of the Irish is great. Finn is currently the NXT Champion and he is the flagship name down there, and he is a future WWE World Champion as well.

How he sees the fan backlash and Social Media

Wrestling is about going out there and getting a reaction and I always get a reaction. Lot of people are trying to create a negative atmosphere and You just should have confidence on what you are and what you can do.

Social Media could eat some people up. Honestly when I read some comments about me, I realize that I'm doing my job because I'm getting under the skin of people.

Dream matches for his title reign

Sheamus wants to face Lesnar at WrestleMania

A match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania would be a dream match for me. I've said this before, I'd love to face the Undertaker as well. He celebrated his 25th anniversary yesterday and Fella can still go.

Triple H's role in his career

From Day one, William Regal took me under his wing, drove me everywhere, gave me advice and all. Regal was very tight with Triple H and introduced me to him. When I moved to Raw, Hunter took over the mentoring and helped me to avoid the mistakes that he and many other superstars made.

Hunter saw something in me and I'm not going to turn down any advice from him.

Jorgen Klopp changing Liverpool

Sheamus feels that Klopp has transformed Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has completely changed the club. The team felt like they did not have any motivation or direction under Brendan Rodgers. There were a lot of holes in the team and Klopp transformed the whole thing.

The energy is there to be there and there is an actual effort from the players to impress Klopp. The league is still wide open and we could walk away with the Premier League Title. And Klopp would be someone for the WWE because he is an entertainer, has great charisma and a positive vibe.

Sheamus will have his first title defence at TLC against Roman Reigns. Tune into Sportskeeda for all the latest updates, news and more about the Pay-Per-View and WWE.
