NXT star Finn Balor recently spoke with MTV UK, and the subject of his meeting with the WWE boss Vince McMahon came up. Balor said he did get to meet Vince over NXT’s San Jose live event over Wrestlemania weekend, but it was cut short. He said Triple H called him over to meet Vince during the show, but it was moments before his match.
The WWE Chairman is said to be a big fan of the NXT star and apparently wants him in the main roster as soon as possible. Regarding the meet, Balor said, “Believe or not, I did have one moment of interaction with the boss. Neville had just gone to the ring, I was behind the curtain waiting to make my trademark entrance and I heard: ‘Finn, Finn!’ I turned around and it was Triple H. He said: ‘Come here, come here.’ So I ran over and he said have you met Vince yet? I said: ‘No, sir.’
And as I said that, out from behind the curtain popped Mr McMahon. He said: ‘How’re you doing, kid? Nice to meet you.’ I said: ‘Nice to meet you, sir.’ And on that cue my music started and I said: ‘Oh! I’ve gotta go!’ Sure enough, I went to the ring and the rest is history!”
