Former WWE Women’s Champion Chyna(real name Joan Laurer) has passed away. She was found dead in her home in Southern California according to Pro Wrestling Sheet. The official Twitter account of Chyna ended up confirming the death, with her manager saying:

"It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero."

"She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

Chyna was by no means someone who was on the right path in life. However, she was a WWE Diva who did big things in the world of pro-wrestling during her time with WWE years ago and was certainly something of an icon during her time. She sort of revolutionized how you see women. She basically told you that women could be powerful and beautiful back in the 90’s. She was truly a person that made you re-think what women were or could be.

However, addiction set in for Chyna. She was involved in a lot of bad things and we saw it publicly for so long. She ended up doing reality tv and eventually got into porn. It is jarring to see Chyna pass, but many felt this could happen at any point due to the lifestyle she was choosing to go own.

To some, this feels as if Chyna took her own life. She was having a lot of issues if you go back to a video she posted this week, which you can see here. TMZ claims that investigators are checking into possible overdose due to her history.

While not immediately confirmed what the cause of death was, the one thing that can be known is that Chyna was struggling more this week than in past ones. To see her go down a bad path for so long was horrible to watch as a WWE fan who enjoyed Chyna from her years with the company.

Chyna was 45 years old.
