Hideo Itami's injury spoils WWE's plans? Update on Finn Balor's main roster call-up

Balor- Itami feud reportedly not happening

WWE NXT has given us a lot of great content over the years. It probably is the best wrestling show going on right now. Even wrestlers outside of the WWE have acknowledged how good the show is, which is saying a lot. Over the years, two NXT superstars have stood out massively since their debut, Finn Balor and Hideo Itami. Both are speculated to be huge for WWE down the line, but one thing the WWE haven’t done is to put the duo in a good rivalry.

As a result, the idea in WWE’s mind was to have them put together for at least one rivalry before either of them gets a call up from the main roster. This won’t be happening and after WWE NXT Takeover: Unstoppable we will have a good idea where the injured stars would end up doing.

As previously reported, Itami’s shoulder injury requires surgery and he is speculated to miss around six to eight months. Since he is injured and will miss time until the late fall period, Finn Balor is expected to get a call-up from the main roster by then.

Needless to say that will cause some big disappointment if Balor gets called up without the feud happening. The Itami injury threw a monkey wrench into the equation the WWE was not prepared for, however, they might push for a major Balor vs Kevin Owens singles feud.

Vince McMahon reportedly is a big fan of Balor and wants him in the main roster as soon as possible, but Triple H is in no mood to rush off things into the young wrestler. He stresses that they should be patient and not rush into things. Balor was assured that he wouldn't stay in the NXT for long and reportedly has a bigger downside than other talents.
