How Sting can be booked in WWE if he joins

Breaking the Jinx?

Breaking the Jinx?

The jinx of a big icon in professional wrestling not making an appearance in WWE might be coming to an end after Sting showed up on the Network this week.

Rumors of him signing a deal with WWE has been strong ever since he quit TNA and the whole IWC was starting to throw up the possibility of him facing Undertaker at WrestleMania for the streak. That certainly is not going to happen as Brock Lesnar ended the two decade long legacy with an F-5 and left the WWE universe scratching their head.

Though, Taker’s streak might have ended, there is still a possibility of the two clashing at next year’s WrestleMania if Sting actually signs a deal with WWE.

But booking Sting till that would be done in a careful way.

First of all, he is in no condition to be a regular wrestler who could work every house show or even every Raw. We might not get matches where he would go against Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan but what WWE could make him do for starters will be to make him an authority figure.

With the whole Authority angle being a hit with the fans after the inclusion of Shield the addition of Sting would only make things better.

Sting could make his debut as the General Manager of SmackDown and give the brand some credibility. Once he takes the position, Sting could rebrand the show as WCW Nitro sparking another invasion angle.

Triple H would be furious with his company being rebranded by an outsider and would send his mercenaries to Nitro only to be met with Sting’s own recruits the Shield.

Thus this could set up the clash between Evolution and Shield at Extreme Rules and the whole WCW-WWE angle adds more depth to the already heated feud.

And like they booked the original invasion angle, the writers could drag this one till Survivor Series when Triple H could spear head the WWE team when Sting would lead the WCW team.

Triple H’s team could include the lights of his evolution teammates and Kane while the WCW team would be made up of the Shield and Sting. With the faith of Nitro at stake, the two could engage in an intriguing battle which the WCW side should win.

Vince McMahon could come out as the peacekeeper once Sting wins and convince Triple H that having Nitro is the best for business thus giving the brand a new life.

And the next night, Sting could come out and say he is ready to hang up his boots but there is still one thing he needs to before he does that and that would be to face the Undertaker.

With Sting making it clear that he wants his final match to be with Undertaker, the creative could build up an angle to make Undertaker look like a physically battered legend who lost his interest in wrestling. From the Survivor Series to the Royal Rumble, WWE could just show Sting’s attempts to drag Taker back into the ring making it great entertainment.

And at Royal Rumble, Taker could finally accept that challenge and tell to everyone that this is going to be his last match as well making it a double farewell match. the two could face at WrestleMania for one last time and could prove to everyone that there are things bigger than victories and defeats.

The advantages of booking Sting like this are:

1) WWE will get a newly revamped TV show other than Raw.

2) They will benefit from the WCW merchandise sale and nostalgia.

3) Will have a high profile survivor series match.

4) The NXT stars could flourish in the new Nitro.

5) And of course there won’t be a bigger draw than double farewell match for next year’s WrestleMania.

It’s the best for business decision on various grounds and it certainly make use of Sting’s return to the core.
