The heart of the matter

Eric Denis, a forty-year-old wrestler, collapsed in the ring following a heart attack, during an ICW wrestling event in Montreal to raise funds for the ICW Crohn's disease Foundation. There were attempts by the locals to resuscitate him, but they proved unsuccessful, and the medics arrived to take him to the hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Danny Kidman, the coordinator of ICW Wrestling Organisation, said that they had nurses present, and as soon as Denis fell, they all came to the stage to attempt to save him. Kidman also said in his interview with TVA Nouvelles that despite the incident, the rest of the situation was dealt with professionally and people were escorted from the room.

"Despite the alarming and tragic situation, the whole situation was under control. People were evacuated from the room, a matter of respect. We were extremely fortunate to have qualified staff for a situation like that. "

Fellow wrestlers paid their respects to him on Twitter. ICW plan to hold a tribute in his honour on their next show on Saturday.
