John Cena soaks in the adulation

The face of WWE, John Cena, has made his presence felt yet again – this time not for the WWE, but for the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Recently congratulating his native team, USA, for progressing in the World Cup, he made it clear to his fans that he doesn’t know much about the game and is in a learning phase with it.

He isn’t the only WWE wrestler to go on record to support the U.S. soccer team. WWE legend, Hulk Hogan, recently tweeted about his support to the team and also made a video to encourage the team to touch new heights in the competition.

The U.S. soccer team has been performing beyond expectations in this competition as they have progressed to the next round, beating the likes of Ghana and Portugal to the qualifying spots in their group. Also, they scored their fastest goal in any World Cup final in this competition against Ghana, when Clint Dempsey scored the first goal within 27 seconds. Even stalwarts like Germany and Portugal had trouble defeating them, as they lost by the narrowest of margins with the former and pressurized their opponent’s defence for a 2-2 draw against the latter.

John Cena has his sights currently set on being the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion in an eight-man ladder match in the Money in the Bank PPV.
