WWE News: More gimmick matches in store for the Women's division

The first ever women’s Hell in a Cell match featuring Charlotte and Banks

It is safe to say that the ‘Women’s Revolution' has resulted in more emphasis on the women’s division, which in turn has allowed the female athletes to create history in WWE. We have already witnessed them main-eventing weekly shows and even saw the first-ever women’s Hell in a Cell match between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks at Hell in a Cell pay-per-view as well, which the two women deservedly main-evented.

So what’s next for the female performers to achieve?

Recently, WWE asked the fans to vote for the stipulation they “want to see women division compete in next” and the options provided were Ladder match, Extreme Rules match, Last Woman Standing match, Royal Rumble match and the Elimination Chamber match.

It seems that the majority of the WWE Universe want the women to perform in an Elimination Chamber match as the option is leading with 40% votes. 25% of the fans who voted, are longing for a Royal Rumble match involving the women. The Ladder match received 15% votes while the Last Woman Standing match got 12% of the votes. The rest 8% went in the favour of an Extreme Rules match.

Regarding Elimination Chamber, it must be noted that the pay-per-view will be returning in February 2017, and it is rumoured to be a RAW exclusive pay-per-view. Charlotte, Bayley and Sasha Banks have already produced outstanding matches with each other. If these women are locked inside the demonic Elimination Chamber structure, not only would they will create history but will also deliver a spectacular match.

Although there have been battle royals featuring the women, WWE has never sanctioned a Royal Rumble match for the women’s division. The division currently being at the best that it has ever been, it will be entertaining to witness the women outdo each other for a chance to compete in a featured match at WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair will be creating history once again, as they will be the first women on the main roster to compete in a 30 minute Iron-woman match at the upcoming Roadblock pay-per-view.

Banks will be walking in the match with prior experience as she had wrestled Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Takeover :Respect under the same stipulations.
