WWE News: Alexa Bliss on dressing like Harley Quinn

Alexa Bliss started sporting the Harley Quinn look from Backlash

Alexa Bliss got called up to the main roster in the draft, and she was drafted to the Smackdown Live, where she is one of the seven women. Many felt that Alexa’s call-up to the main roster was well deserved and long overdue, as she had been one of the most consistently good parts of the critically acclaimed NXT female division. With her call-up, there was a big gap left in the NXT female division, which is now in a rebuilding phase.

On her first match at Smackdown Live, she got the pin over now-Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Her first Pay-Per-View appearance was on Summerslam where she teamed up with Natalya and the returning Nikki Bella to take on Becky Lynch, Carmella and Naomi, an effort that saw her team successfully pick up the win.

Smackdown Live has done a good job of consistently featuring all their women every week and in both the PPVs so far(minus Eva Marie, initially attributed to her suspension and now to her filming a movie). At Backlash, she was part of a Six-Pack elimination challenge to determine the first ever Smackdown Women’s Champion. Though she was the first to get eliminated, she stood out due to her sporting a new Harley Quinn look. She began to continuously sport the look from then on. In an interview with the Cleveland.com, she explained her new look:

”I am a Harley Quinn fan. I am a big fan of characters in general. When I was in NXT, we would dress up in themes like Freddy Krueger and Iron Man. [Buddy] Murphy, who wrestles in NXT, just recently dressed up as Two-Face. And I was like, man wish I could do that stuff. I really want to do a Harley Quinn inspired outfit. So he helped me come up with it.

I love being a villain. It's just so much more fun. Fans like Harley Quinn. I don't think Alexa Bliss, as a character, cares what people think.”

Alexa Bliss has been one of the women to benefit from going to the blue brand, as she has excelled in every department so far. The night after Backlash, she won a Fatal-Five Way to become the number one contender for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. She is set to face Becky Lynch for the title this coming Sunday at No Mercy.
