WWE News: Becky Lynch on a possible heel turn

Could you ever see Becky Balboa as a heel?

Becky Lynch is among the most adored “career babyfaces” along with the likes of Bayley and Sami Zayn. Everything about her and her character is so loveable, that many find it hard to imagine her being a heel. However, she has been a heel before, and when asked the question on being a heel in the future in an interview with Games Radar, she said:

"100 per cent. And I'll do it when people least expect it! Mostly for social media: Twitter or Instagram becomes so much more fun when you can be boastful and say whatever you want. You can be so full of yourself and ridiculous when you're a heel.

And if I'm ever going to feud with Bayley again, you couldn't have her be the heel. Actually, I would love to see Bayley heel though. Wouldn't that be funny? What would she do? Kick puppies? I don't know!"

It is unlikely that Becky Lynch will turn heel anytime soon given that she is the face of the Smackdown Live women’s division.

Before the brand split, she generally was in a feud constantly, but was not able to reach the “brass ring”, and many believed that she was viewed as “third” in the eyes of the officials, with them giving preference to Charlotte and Sasha Banks.

However, she was the first female draft pick of Smackdown Live, which seemed to indicate that her time had finally come.

Her time had indeed come as she became the inaugural Smackdown Women’s Champion. What many who don’t watch NXT may not know, is that over two years ago, Becky Lynch was a heel when she had turned on Bayley and aligned with Sasha Banks to form Team B.A.E. (Best At Everything).

However, it was only a matter of months before she turned face again, and she had a critically acclaimed match with The Boss at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable.

While she might not be turning heel anytime soon, it is in the distant realm of possibilities, more so if she forms a faction. A logical step would be to have a faction with either all of the Four Horsewomen or align with one(or two) of them. However, as mentioned, Becky is still one of the few universally loved babyfaces by the fans.

Becky Lynch is currently feuding with Alexa Bliss. She had a successful defence against the Small but fierce challenger but that did not end without controversy, as Alexa Bliss had her foot on the ropes while Becky was submitting her, something the referee missed out on.

Her feud with Alexa is clearly not over, as it is expected to lead up to another match at TLC. However, now The Lass Kicker has to focus on helping her fellow female blue brand stars to victory over their Raw counterparts and arch rivals. The Four Horsewomen will all be in the same ring once more, but this time around, three of them would be on one side.
