WWE News: Big Update on Finn Balor's return

Will the inaugural Universal Champion be back for Wrestlemania 33?

Finn Balor became possibly one of the fastest WWE debuting stars to win a World Championship. The fact that the was the inaugural Universal Champion definitely indicates that they had huge plans for The Demon King.

As quick as the success came, it was taken away, as he had suffered a shoulder dislocation at Summerslam, and was forced to vacate the Universal Championship the next night on Raw. Now and then, Balor and WWE post updates regarding his return.

The latest update is that he is progressing very well, and WWE are confident that he will be back in time for Wrestlemania 33. He rehabs the shoulder injury at the WWE Performance Center and with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas in Birmingham, Alabama.

In fact, it is even believed that Balor will make his return much before Wrestlemania 33. Balor himself is very optimistic and is looking to get back into the Squared Circle as soon as possible. The biggest speculation is that Balor has a high chance of returning in time for the 30th anniversary of the Royal Rumble.

If he is to return as a surprise entry, that already makes him one of the biggest favourites to win the historic event that will take place in Alamodome. WWE officials clearly have faith in Balor, which was seen when they gave him the World Championship in his first month with WWE.

If he is to win the Rumble, it is not known whether he would main event Wrestlemania 33 or not, but it depends on the position on the card of the Undertaker-John Cena match if that is to happen. The latter could possibly event the show, as it is very likely the final match of The Phenom, as reported earlier.

Regardless, news about Balor being able to return in time for Wrestlemania 33 is good news for all, as many feared he would miss the granddaddy of them all with the shoulder injury. Many consider Balor’s demon entrance “tailor made” for Wrestlemania, and Balor himself said that the reason he came to WWE was to perform at Wrestlemania.

There is no doubt that he will have a prominent position on the card either way. It could be interesting to see Kevin Owens vs Finn Balor for the Universal Championship at the grandest stage of them all.

Here is an update WWE posted 3 weeks ago. Things seem to be going according to plan.
