WWE News: Cody Rhodes talks about possible WWE return

Rhodes is a 2 time WWE Intercontinental Champion.

TNA’s latest star Cody Rhodes spoke with Dan “The Loud Mouth” Lovranski of The Fight Network to promote his appearance at Ontario for the Sunday’s Smash Wrestling event. During the interview, Rhodes spoke about limitations of the “Stardust” character and also about a possible WWE return.

When asked about a possible WWE return, Rhodes said he isn’t sure about it but he doesn’t rule it out either. According to him,

“I don’t know, I don’t think the door to WWE ever closes. I’m always been told that the revolving door – you know, it’s a tricky question because there were a lot of genuinely large issues for me personally that it would be hypocritical for me to just go back, they would need to be fixed.”

He also states that leaving the WWE was a tough decision and he doesn’t want to be seen as a huge hypocrite if he returns back and shows up unless there is a good reason.

Many people reacted to Rhodes leaving the WWE and you can listen to Steve Austin’s opinion in the video below

According to Cody, there are plenty of good reasons for him to return as he believes that the WWE is doing a great job honouring his father and he feels strange to be not a part of it. He also states that it has been strange for them as well:

“It’s not just strange for me, it’s strange for them. Believe me, there’s various texts back and forth about it” .

Apart from that Rhodes also revealed the reason he left WWE:

“I think one of the things that was so disappointing for me at the end of the time in WWE was simply that people had forgotten what I was doing prior to Stardust”

Rhodes believes that he had done some great work prior to Stardust as Cody Rhodes especially on the Smackdown brand, but he thinks that it started to fell apart after he was tagged in with Dustin Rhodes, his elder brother, better known as Goldust.

Cody Rhodes left the WWE in May 2016 after he requested his release from the company. He continues to work on the independent scene where he even had his dream match against Kurt Angle.

Rhodes made his TNA debut at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view on October 2nd. Rhodes has also revealed that he would appear at ROH’s Final Battle pay-per-view on December 2. Here is the clip of Rhodes making his TNA debut.
