WWE News: Goldberg expects physicality in Brock Lesnar match to exceed expectations

Goldberg returned to Monday Night RAW after 12 long years to accept Lesnar’s challenge

Goldberg created shockwaves throughout the WWE universe when he returned to Monday Night RAW after 12 long years. In what was the critically acclaimed as a great segment, Goldberg accepted Brock Lesnar’s challenge and the two are set to face off at Survivor Series.

Goldberg recently made an appearance on JR’s online podcast The Ross Report, and spoke about his upcoming match with the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.

Goldberg asserted that the match will exceed expectations. He addressed the concerns of many WWE fans on whether he was still in shape for taking on someone as dominating as Brock Lesnar. He said that although he was past his prime, he could still tame the Beast and predicted some physicality in the match.

“So just because I'm not up on my hitting the ropes skills, don't mean that I don't bring something to the table that will far exceed expectations as far as violence is concerned, so that's what we do, man.”

Goldberg admitted that he was still trying to figure out the right combinations to bring into the ring to go toe-to-toe with Lesnar and come Survivor Series, he would be ready for it.

WWE have a lot of money riding on this match and they cannot afford to repeat the mistakes that happened during the WrestleMania XX bout between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. Goldberg made a glorious return on Monday Night RAW last week and delivered an emotional and intense promo.

He made it very clear to Lesnar that he would not back down from the challenge and sent a strong message to Paul Heyman and his client.

However, this past week the buildup to this titanic clash took a hit when, in a rare instance, Paul Heyman failed to sell Lesnar as the villain.

In Lesnar’s home state of Minnesota, the crowd booed Goldberg who is supposed to be the face in this encounter. Surprisingly, chants of “Goldberg sucks” were heard leading to Vince McMahon cutting the segment short.

WWE would be hoping that Paul Heyman returns to his A game soon to hype up the clash in his trademark Paul Heyman style. WWE management on their part have also been busy with promotions by running simulations of the match between Lesnar and Goldberg on their new WWE 2K17 video game.
