WWE News: Huge update on Tyson Kidd’s injury

Earlier this week, injured WWE superstar Tyson Kidd gave us an update on the severity of his injury and things don’t seem to be going well for the talented wrestler.

Kidd revealed via social media that he can’t really feel his head or move it the way he used to do. But he did end on a motivated note claiming that he is more and more focused on his recovery every single day.

This Canadian professional, popular for being the final graduate of the Hart Dungeon, got injured over a year ago in a dark match against the Samoan Submission Machine – Samoa Joe. He suffered a rather severe outcome to a regular muscle buster, something that Joe is so commonly known to use.

Doctors and experts haven’t been able to point out what exactly went wrong as the move has been practised and executed harmlessly over many years. Bret Hart, however, claimed in interviews that this was a result of both Tyson Kidd and Samoa Joe being rushed to the ring for a quick match without a proper warm-up.

Tyson Kidd was enjoying a good partnership with Cesaro

Tyson Kidd was at the peak of his career prior to this mishap, enjoying a wonderful partnership with the Swiss Superman – Cesaro. There were huge expectations on the team to brighten up then-lacklustre tag team division, mainly due to their diverse wrestling styles.

While both of them were technically proficient, Cesaro played a more muscular role, with Kidd playing the fearless high-flyer. The chemistry between both was abundant and a critically acclaimed, with reports attributing their in-ring chemistry to their real life friendship.

A testament to this friendship was the fact that Cesaro continued to pay tribute to his injured teammate in the weeks to come, honouring the Hart legacy with the Sharpshooter and Kidd’s armband.

Some even scarier revelations were made by the doctors claiming that Kidd was lucky to even be alive, following the injury, as there was a 95% chance of such injuries being fatal. Then there was also a chance of him ending up a quadriplegic due to the nature of the injury, comparing it to Christopher Reeves’ situation.

Kidd has had a good WWE career to date, with some highs and lows. Every low followed by him coming back stronger, maybe it is this will and heart that helped him avoid either of the situations. We at Sportskeeda wish him a quick and complete recovery, hoping to see him stand next to his beloved wife, Natalya, holding up the Hart legacy!
