WWE News: Kevin Owens defeats Roman Reigns by disqualification to retain the Universal Championship
The Prize Fighter overcame The Big Dog by nefarious means to retain the Universal Championship.
Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns’ main event match ended in a disqualification after Chris Jericho interfered and hit Owens with a code breaker.
While it looked like Jericho turned on Owens, it was all a ploy as Jericho revealed his intentions at the end, raising Owens’ hand and hugging him.
However, things did not go all well after that for the duo.
Roman Reigns was furious, and as the two best friends were walking away in glory, it was short lived, as Seth Rollins came out. He chased the duo who ran into Reigns and they were then assaulted by the two former Shield members.
The attack was followed up by not one, but two Shield spots, as they power bombed both Jericho and Owens onto two different announce tables.
At first, an Owens vs Jericho title feud was teased, but it was a swerve. The former Shield brothers stood tall on the main announcer’s desk to end the show.
