WWE News: Nikki Bella on working in Scotland, being a role model

The Smackdown Live superstar has been feuding with Carmella

Nikki Bella made her return to Smackdown Live this year at Summerslam. However, her return was obstructed by Carmella, who on-screen still tries to make her life a living hell. Regardless, the Smackdown Live superstar is looking ahead and is currently on their European tour.

In an interview with the Daily Record, The Fearless one opened up on how excited she was to be performing in Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday:

“I’ve wrestled here before and it’s always an amazing crowd – we love our WWE fans and the Bella army is strong in Scotland, so I’m really excited to get back in action in front of them.”

Nikki said she enjoys being a role model and added:

“I always felt there were generations of women who have been strong and powerful in wrestling, but now we’re superstars and it gives young women the chance to look up and see female role models in the WWE.”

Nikki Bella said that she has high hopes for Scottish talent Nikki Cross (real name Nicola Glencross), who currently is in NXT in the faction SAniTY. She said that Cross would make a great addition to the main roster and that she would love to welcome Cross to the main roster.

In the interview, Nikki stated that she missed Brie being by her side, but she has enjoyed being on her own so far.

When Nikki came back from her career-threatening injury, she came back to a whole new division. When she took a hiatus it was the Divas division and things were not progressing as many had hoped. However, this year, things have rapidly changed, and Nikki Bella was given a harsh welcome to The New Era.

Nikki faces another tough challenge when she leads Smackdown Live’s women’s Survivor Series team against Raw, which happens to be captained by Raw Women’s Champion and her former arch-rival Charlotte, who ended her historic reign as Divas Champion.

It will be interesting to see the dynamic in the team she leads, as her arch-rival Carmella is on the team as well.

One of Nikki’s big projects this year was the launch of Total Bellas, the spin-off show to Total Divas. The show began around February this year when Daniel Bryan was forced to retire, and him, Brie, the twins’ mother and brother all moved into Nikki and John Cena’s house to take care of Nikki during her recovery period.
