Paige was spotted at Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s 20th-anniversary show on Saturday night. She was there accompanying fianceé Alberto El Patron for his appearance and match with Sami Callihan (formerly Solomon Crowe in NXT).
According to wrestlingnews.co, Paige came out to no music and she was announced over the PA system by ring announcer Larry Legend.
Her WWE deal prohibits her from wrestling for another company (she would not be medically allowed to do so yet, regardless).
WWE talent are allowed to attend independent shows as long as it’s not an advertised appearance. They can only do advertised appearances if WWE gives them permission to do so. This was not a setup or advertised appearance. She was merely there as a fan to support her fianceé.
Alberto Del Rio himself took to Instagram to put over his opponent Sami Callihan:
Paige is currently recovering from a surgery and is expected to be out for six to nine months.
She received a second suspension from WWE last month, less than a month after her first suspension ended. Her suspension is set to end on December 10th, but it is unlikely that we will see her on WWE television anytime soon until she is fully recovered, and has completed training for a return.
Until that is the case, she is with Alberto Del Rio travelling the United States and the world with him. He is wrestling in the indies and also getting more involved in his role as president of Combates America. He now not only performs under the name “Alberto El Patron”, but also “Alberto El Presidente”.
As mentioned, Paige is expected to be back later next year, or if she tries to speed up the recovery process, then she could perhaps return right around the time Wrestlemania gets over.
That would be a very interesting time for her to return, as it is the period of the year when WWE decides to completely freshen things up and explore new feuds and storylines.
