The perfect scenario for CM Punk to return at Wrestlemania 30

CM Punk and Daniel Bryan

CM Punk and Daniel Bryan

Be it the fans, former WWE superstars or a certain engagement ring, CM Punk has hardly not been in any discussion since going M.I.A two months ago and he hasn’t even spoken a single word about anything. All we know is what Dave Meltzer lets out. The only time CM Punk was directly mentioned was on Raw in his hometown Chicago where a return was teased and we know how that episode went. Cm Punk’s contract will end in the month of July just like almost 3 years ago. But no one can still rule out a return and if that return happens at Wrestlemania 30 then things might get all the more interesting.

So here’s assuming that CM Punk does make a return at Wrestlemania, that will definitely get the crowd excited. Now in the middle of which match can we and should we see him return?

Participating in a match is out of the question. Now participating in the Battle Royal is out of the question too since it will happen towards the opening parts of Wrestlemania and even though the build towards this match has been above expectations, Punk will rather want to be in a much hyped match. And he should rightfully so be in one too. The most well hyped matches are Triple H Vs Daniel Bryan and John Cena vs Bray Wyatt. CM Punk interfering in Wyatt’s match will definitely be to help Cena as Wyatt has his own helpers in Harper and Rowan and if Punk return after a 2 month hiatus to help Cena then Cena should end up winning it, which is what we assume the WWE is not planning on having and the fans certainly don’t want to see this repetitive tradition. So this match cancels out.

Here comes Triple H and Daniel Bryan. Punk coming out to help Bryan looks probable and appropriate given that Triple H will have his own goons and his wife ready backstage when he needs them and Bryan so far has been built as a lone warrior and leading the Yes Movement supported by fans who definitely don’t wrestle. Here is the opening for a Punk’s return BUT let’s say if Kane and the outlaws come to protect Triple H then the Shield can make the save for Bryan and if Stephanie comes running, Brie Bella can make an appearance. So this evens things out in the match.

Now, comes the main event and this will be the perfect opportunity for Punk to have a Wrestlemania moment and that too in the main event like he always wanted. Even though he is not headlining it officially but whatever he decided to do in the main event will make the post- Wrestlemania headlines.

So, here’s a scenario- If Daniel Bryan has already conquered Triple H and moved on to the main event he has fresh opponents in Orton and Batista. Now we’ve seen that Orton has been getting next to no momentum as champion. He’s been overshadowed by Daniel Bryan and Triple H’s banters. Batista has been a better heel, unintentionally, than him. So having Orton win at Wrestlemania is just plain stale. This leads us to the Case of Batista. The guy came off a really hyped return which fizzled out at theRoyal Rumble following his predictable victory and the fan following of Daniel Bryan. He added a new catchphrase in ‘Deal With It’ and has since garnered quite a strong negative reaction. And if WWE decides to put the title on him, which they are very capable of doing and giving the fans their own ‘deal with it’ sign, this will end Wrestlemania on a low note. But if WWE got away with the underwhelming Rock-Cena Part 2, there is every chance they can get away with this underwhelming result of a Batista Victory.

OR

In a perfect scenario if a fighting Daniel Bryan is almost getting cheated off a victory again and CM Punk comes out to even the odds, that will lead to two former indy darlings to end Wrestlemania just the way Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero did, with their hands held high and Daniel Bryan getting the most perfect Wrestlemania moment.
