Road to WrestleMania XXX: Ideal path for Sting

Time for WWE

Time for WWE

If there is any superstar that Vince McMahon would want to sign before he heads into retirement, then it has to be Sting who is arguably the most popular Wrestler in the world who hasn’t competed in a WWE squared circle.

The former WCW champion has been staying well clear of the negotiation skills of the WWE boss but the recent condition that he is faced with might turn him in. Sting’s TNA career is over at the moment and a guy with a legendary status like him gained nothing from being there at Dixie Carter’s promotion.

Rumors of Sting finally signing with the WWE are stronger than ever leaving so much of hope for the WWE universe. The contract could act as a last run for the ageing warrior who can have a farewell match in front of a capacity crowd rather than a static and boring TNA fans.

His signing would be a big news in the wrestling business and a big headache for the creative team as they have to book Sting in a great way to continue his momentum.

So let’s take a look at the best possible way to book Sting through to WrestleMania.

The New General Manager for SmackDown tease

Changes coming

Changes coming

Owing to the changes that the WWE is to bring along with the launch of the WWE Network will be a new general manager for SmackDown. This announcement of a new manager being appointed for SmackDown should be made at the Raw which follows the Elimination Chamber.

Most importantly, the announcement should be made by none other than the boss, Vince McMahon himself in order add more relevance to the whole thing.

Many wouldn’t even remember the fact of a new manager at SmackDown since it has been relegated to a second tier TV Show.

We are taking over

We are taking over

We are taking over

Once the SmackDown starts rolling everyone will be anticipated about the fact as to who will be the new GM of the show.

Vince McMahon would introduce the new manager in his trade mark style with Sting coming out receiving a big pop. After some exchange of words, Sting can refuse to shake hands with Vince McMahon and announce that WCW is taking over the business.

This will set the stage for Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kevin Nash and Chris Jericho to surround the ring while Sting could stand tall over the knocked out McMahon.

The rebranding

The rebranding

The rebranding

With the former WCW superstars aiding him, Sting can come out on the next week’s Raw and say that they are rebranding WWE SmackDown into WCW Nitro.

A frustrated Vince McMahon can send out his own team of WWE superstars which can include Damien Sandow, Alberto Del Rio, Kane and Fandango. A clash between the WCW wrestlers and the WWE wrestlers could thus conclude that Raw night.

In the following Nitro, Sting and his back up people will be bragging about how easily they captured the WWE show.

The rebranding will work as a financial income since the WCW days brings back nostalgic tides.

The challenge

An Offer you can't refuse ?

An Offer you can’t refuse ?

Having lost his one brand due to the WCW take over, Vince McMahon could challenge Sting for a match which could decide who deserves to run Nitro. For the match each Sting and McMahon could select any of their favorite wrestler who will compete with Sting and McMahon on the corners.

Before this match is made official the 4 on 4 match could be booked at WrestleMania where the WCW men will lock horns against the WWE men. This will engage the eight wrestlers in a great way rather than being left out of the WrestleMania as a whole.

And My choice is

The first choice

The first choice

The option of choosing the wrestler first will belong to Vince McMahon. And without much of any delay, McMahon would go and shake hands with Brock Lesnar promising him a title shot if he gets the job done.

Lesnar is going to make Sting more alert knowing that he needs to put something bigger if he is to keep in charge of Nitro.

Sting could come out with a bang and announce that Undertaker will wrestle for him to make sure that WCW is here to stay. This would set up a Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker match which will be for the power of managing the Nitro brand.

The WrestleMania match for power

He strikes again

He strikes again

The match would have a more creative buildup this way as the company will incorporate various aspects like WCW, Sting and revenge into the mix to make it very different from the typical Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match.

Vince McMahon could stand in the corner of Lesnar while Sting will be on the corner of Undertaker. The match be well worked by the creative to hid the flaws and shortcomings of both the Wrestlers. Taker could continue his run defeating Brock Lesnar which means that Sting would stick around running his Nitro.

This is going to make the second tier show more important and will give a possibility of a potential match between Sting and Undertaker for WrestleMania 31 with a proper buildup.
