WWE Rumours: Sasha Banks and Charlotte wanted ladder match for Roadblock

Flair and Banks have been breaking new barriers with their rivalry

The rivalry between Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair has taken the WWE women’s division to a whole new level over the past few months. During this time, the two of them have faced each other multiple times and delivered one classic after another.

Banks and Flair became the first two female superstars in WWE history to engage in battle inside ‘Hell in a Cell’ at the eponymous pay-per-view earlier this year. A couple of weeks ago on Raw, they were at it again in a ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ match for the Raw Women’s Championship.

With ‘The Queen’ winning the earlier encounter to become champion and ‘The Boss’ taking back the title in the latter one, things are still even between the arch-rivals. As such, a 30-minute ‘Ironman’ match has been announced for Roadblock: End of The Line to settle once and for all who the better woman is.

However, as reported by the Wrestling Observer, the two ladies wanted to compete in a ladder match instead. Perhaps the reason behind this thought process was that ladder matches have primarily been uncharted territory for the women in the WWE.

Unfortunately for them, though, the creative team did not approve of the idea. Apparently, there were also discussions around a possible ‘steel cage’ match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair but that idea was scrapped, too, because the two had already faced off in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match.

It was finally decided that a 30-minute Ironman match will be an ideal way to possibly end one of the best and longest-running WWE rivalries of the year 2016. Going by the kind of performances we have seen from Sasha and Charlotte, they may end up stealing the show on Roadblock: End of The Line as well.
