It is rumored backstage that WWE wants to bring back an extreme stipulation for a possible tag team encounter between the Shield and the Bullet/Balor Club. The match, if happens at all, will take place at SummerSlam or at Survivor Series. The possibilty of the match depends after the top guys, who were sidelined due to injuries, return to active competition.
Dailywrestlingnews.com reports that if Bullet Club vs Shield becomes a reality, then WWE officials may make it a War Game match. War game matches are rare and were popular in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). War game matches use to happen at Fall Brawl pay per views in WCW.
The War Game match generally involves two teams, having four or five wrestlers each. The wrestlers are usually locked in a steel cage that encompassed two rings. WWE’s Elimination Chamber stipulation, TNA’s Lethal Lockdown match, etc are all considered to be variation of the War Game stipulation.
Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows attacked Roman Reigns and try to make sure that their friend, AJ Styles, wins the WWE Championship at WWE Payback. Also, Finn Balor is expected to debut in the main roster very soon. Seth Rollins is rumored to allign himself with Roman and Ambrose after his return as well. All these have made some fans believe that WWE is already working on that Shield vs Bullet Club angle.
