WWE News: Stephanie McMahon talks about women main-eventing Wrestlemania, bringing Ronda Rousey to WWE

WWE seem to be interested in signing Ronda Rousey

Sasha Banks and Charlotte created history at Hell In A Cell 2016 when they not only became the first women to ever compete in a Hell In A Cell match but also the first two women to main-event a WWE pay-per-view. The duo put on quite a show for the fans and it was a worthy main-event.

On the heels of this historic night, Stephanie McMahon recently spoke to TMZ Sports about the possibility of women Superstars someday main-eventing Wrestlemania.

WWE's Stephanie McMahon -- I'm Gunning for Ronda Rousey ... When She Retires from UFC

Rousey is one of the biggest stars that UFC have and is a transcendental figure who has already started moving into film work. She’s also a lifelong WWE fan and had previously spoken about someday working with WWE. Stephanie didn’t say anything specific when asked about signing Rousey but just replied that WWE would definitely try. When asked about women main-eventing Wrestlemania someday, she said:

“That would be the goal, to have the women main-event at WrestleMania at some point in time whether that's five years from now, 10 years from now”

With the era of women’s wrestling well and truly on its way, signing Ronda Rousey and adding it to the most talented women’s division in the history of pro wrestling could mean big business. Rousey would definitely help the women of WWE to break through the next glass ceiling.
