Survivor Series: Roman Reigns steals the show

WWE now just has one pay-per-view left to end the year. Survivor Series just concluded. The PPV was considered to be very predictable and even though it did nothing much to counter that, it did leave us with some good moments. The two matches which were expected to steal the show were both tag team bouts. One was the traditional Elimination tag match and the other one was Punk and Bryan versus Rowan and Harper of the Wyatt Family.

Though none of the matches on the card had a convincing story-line, these two matches entertained quite a lot.

The traditional Survivor Series match lived up to its potential and expectations. The only great story-line consequence that this match could have had was if a member of the Shield was the lone survivor. This might just escalate the tension between the Shield which might eventually lead to their break up.

And so behold.

Roman Reigns was the lone survivor and he made his statement with style, eliminating four opponents. He is known as the powerhouse of the Shield and he was made to look every bit like that.

In the past, Reigns has been shown to be visibly unconvinced with Ambrose. Dean Ambrose is the only champion the team has since Reigns and Rollins lost their titles to the Rhodes Brothers because of the interference from Big Show.

Soon after this, reports started floating around of Reigns being the first member to break out of the Shield and becoming a face in the process. There is no doubt that he has the build of what the WWE clearly look for in their superstars.

Many fans were quite sure that he’ll be the one rising to the top earlier than his teammates. Ambrose and Rollins have been quite known as far as professional wrestling goes. These guys have built a reputation and they already had a fan base even before being part of the Shield.

Reigns, however, was relatively very new and he had this certain mystique about him. He spoke less when it came to promos but had the most impact while inside the ring, even though he was not as polished as Ambrose and Rollins.

At Survivor Series, the company cleared quite a few speculations.

Reigns had quite an audience to watch him trample his opponents. He certainly has been noticed even if, shockingly, he wasn’t noticed as much before. His cousin, The Rock, was the sole survivor when he debuted at Survivor Series. Reigns might just follow his footsteps to become a marquee guy.

Now, if Dean Ambrose brags about his championships, Reigns has his sole survivor status to brag about. This might just be the beginning of the end of the Shield. I sure hope it isn’t. But being a sole survivor at Survivor Series is never a small achievement.
