The latest scoop on TNA's postponed India tour

TNA was supposed to tour India next month

It’s common knowledge that TNA has pulled the plug on their December tour of India just before their talents were due to jet into the country. The wrestlers that were booked have been promised that they will be getting the full wage that was due to them should they have participated overseas, according to F4Wonline.com.

Due to the contracts with Sony Six, TNA has to tour India once per year, so the tour will definitely be held at a later date in 2016 – reports Dailywrestling news.

The reason for the tour’s cancellation was due to the logistical issues that had cropped up, with the security of the franchise’s stars being the main concern. An official announcement from one of TNA’s partners in India noted that the tour was postponed due to logistical issues, but failed to point out security and safety concerns, stating that timing was the main factor for the cancellation.

TNA talents had received their itineraries for the trip and the company had secured more than 50 work visas for the tour, which shows just how committed the franchise was to the India tour before the dilemma.

The wrestlers were informed about the cancellation via e-mail, and were briefed about the challenge of flying abroad due to recent events. The crew was scheduled to jet out of the United States this weekend fly to Paris, France, after which they would fly to India.

Needless to say the wrestlers were less than happy about the cancellation, especially due to the fact that steady work wasn’t coming from the TNA,

Rumour had it that the actual reason for the tour’s cancellation was due to low ticket sales, but that was denied due to the fact that sponsor Sony Six would be picking up the tab for everything.

The email which was sent out to the stars did mention that the India leg would be rescheduled for a later date in 2016, but it’s now a question of when that date would exactly arrive.

However, when and when the tour happens, it’s bound to pull in a good audience due to the sizeable following wrestling has in India.
