It is common knowledge now that AJ Lee officially retired from the WWE on 3rd April. The company issued the following statement about Miss April’s retirement:
"AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best."
Since then, there have been many posts on different new portals trying to analyze this decision of the former WWE DIVA Champion. But now, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s latest reports, it has transpired that the real reason which led to her retirement decision is the fact that WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann filed a lawsuit against her husband CM Punk.
As AJ wanted to get rid of all her present WWE contracts, she used the term “retirement” to mark her departure from the WWE. Also, by retiring, she has officially restricted any other wrestling business or sport company to deal with her, at least until her present WWE contract is officially over.
Lee’s retirement does make a lot more sense now!
Anyway, we will miss her especially for this.
