TNA star makes huge debut at NXT tapings, WWE issues statement

NXT got hit by a “Storm”

- It has been teased for months and what was thought to be a rumor turned out to be true as former TNA World Champion James Storm made his debut at the latest NXT TV tapings from Full Sail University.

It was reported earlier that Storm was seen at a recent NXT live event, but the reports were turned down by Storm himself. A few days later it was speculated that Storm was contemplating a role as a coach in NXT. But what transpired was a huge surprise all together as James ‘Stormed ‘ out to a great reception to mark his huge debut at Full Sail University. He faced Martin Stone is singles action and ending up winning his first NXT match on Thursday night.

The WWE issued the following statement announcing the surprising debut:

ORLANDO, Fla. — One night after the critically acclaimed TakeOver: Respect special on WWE Network, NXT has again made waves.

James Storm, an 18-year veteran, and former heavyweight champion made his unannounced debut at tonight’s NXT TV tapings. He competed in a match that will air on NXT on Wednesday, Oct. 21, only on WWE Network.

Storm’s arrival just underscores what the WWE Universe already realizes: You just never know who will show up in NXT.

One thing is true, that you never know who might show up at NXT, which makes the brand a must watch entity every week. After the history-making Takeover event, this was exactly what NXT needed to further ascend its quality. Props to Triple H and the team behind the idea of getting Storm on board. The Game commented on the debut and below is his tweet and other posts about the same:

- Another much-awaited debut of Nia Jax, an independent wrestler from New Zealand, took place at the same NXT tapings. She is all set to make her TV debut on Wednesday when the episode airs. Below is a post from the tapings:

Nia, whose real name is Savelina “Lina” Fanene, has wrestled in promotions such as Shimmer and Shine wrestling. Her debut has been teased over the past few weeks and this time the WWE went through with it. She squashed Evie in her first televised match and her future looks promising in an environment where women’s wrestling is being revolutionized.
