Top 5 "Santa Claus" moments in the WWE

Stone Cold is Santa Claus

Christmas is over, but it’s never too late to remember a classic WWE moment. To celebrate the festive season spirit let’s take a look at some of the Santa moments in the WWE.

5. My name is Santa Claus Steve Austin

This was during the first ever Tribute to the Troops (2003) which happened in Baghdad. Vince McMahon came to the ring and thanked the troops for their service, but soon he got interrupted by Santa who was giving gifts to the troops. Vince didn’t like this interruption, so he went ahead and insulted Santa for his weight and then called him inside the ring, Vince asked for his gift but unfortunately Santa didn’t have one for him. Vince confronted Santa about the fact that he never stopped at his house over the years and told Santa to turn his big fat a** around and get out of the ring. Santa extended his hand but instead Vince pushed him down and bragged about it, but Santa got up, removed his beard and revealed himself as Stone Cold. It was Stunner time and McMahon again didn’t enjoy it.

Santa Claus and Big Show

4. Only Santa can unite Jeri-Show

After losing their tag team titles to DX, Chris Jericho (SmackDown) and Big Show (Raw) could no longer team together as they belonged to different brands. But spending time together for nearly 4 months made the separation hard for them and with Christmas approaching, Big Show came in the ring and demanded the REAL Santa to fulfill his wish of uniting with Jericho. Santa came out with The Bella Twins and Big Show had Santa sit on his knee (usually it’s the other way around). Show told Santa that he has been a good boy that year and he wants his best friend, Chris Jericho, to be put back on Raw. Santa granted Show his wish and promised that Jericho would be back on Raw from next week, but then Hornswoggle came out from under the ring with many other little people and they together removed Santa’s costume and revealed him to be no one else but Jericho.

The evil "Xanta Klaus"

3. Who’s he? Xanta Klaus! What?

In the mid-90s, it was shown that the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase has paid Santa Claus to attack Savio Vega. It was later revealed that this Santa was Santa Claus’ evil brother, Xanta Klaus. What?!! Xanta Klaus was not from the North Pole but from the South Pole and stole presents rather than giving them; WWF’s story writing at its best. Fortunately, Klaus didn’t last long, (maybe WWF was going by the idea that evil is weaker good). Xanta Klaus was played by the same guy who later became ECW’s Balls Mahoney. Xanta appeared for quite some time in the WWF and was a part of the company’s continuous poor storylines during those times.

Stunner for Santa

2. Stone Cold Stunner for Santa

This one is from the time of Stone Cold’s rise in the WWF in 1997. The Santa, during that year’s Christmas, expected Sable to come and sit on his lap and tell him whether she has been naughty or nice that year (definitely a naughty Santa), but instead of her came a child who accused him of being a fake Santa. The Santa got really pissed, and threw the kid out of the ring. Austin entered and asked him if he was the real Santa or just “a fat piece of trash.” To test his knowledge, Austin asked him what he wanted from Santa when he was 6 years old to which Santa replied “Tiddly Winks and a Barbie Doll.” Austin said “And I can tell ya what to do with every one of your little Tiddly Winks” and the audience gave a big HELL NO! With that Austin gave a Stunner to Santa. Naughty Santa was never seen again in the WWE. This was just one of the many funny WWF moments involving “The Texas Rattlesnake.”

Santa's Mexican Accident

1. Santa’s Mexican Accident

This was during Alberto Del Rio’s start as a face as he hit Santa with his car, sending him crashing on the floor with a Christmas tree falling on his head. Del Rio’s punishment was a “Miracle on 34th Street Fight,” against John Cena. The match was filled with weapons in the form of a Christmas pie and teddy bear. Santa returned during the match and stopped Ricardo Rodriguez from attacking Cena and then applied “Mr. Socko” to Del Rio, putting him on the receiving end of the Attitude Adjustment. Lesson for the year: Aristocrats don’t knock out Santa, Alberto!!!
