Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 17 April, 2016

Rollins is all set for a return

Whoever is running WWE these days, he or she is doing a damn good job. The fans are pretty happy with how the creative direction is going and at the same time, all these fresh faces in the roster are giving a good feel altogether. While this happiness is making the fans tune into the weekly shows that WWE puts together, the internet is buzzing with speculations and rumors as always.

We are two weeks off WrestleMania now and still, the aftermath of the show is making rumblings here and there. The latest rumors suggest some interesting plans from WWE’s side for the upcoming months. Here is a look at those rumors and their potential impact.

Future of Zack Ryder

Back to NXT?

Zack Ryder’s luck seemed to be turning around when he won the Intercontinental Championship but apparently, his career is going back to the spell of irrelevance. From what Ryder is doing in social media, we get the impression that the Miz vs. Ryder feud is going to continue but apparently, WWE has no plans of doing so.

Ryder could be going back to NXT soon and is likely to rejoin Mojo Rawley as part of the Hype Bros. This would be a very disheartening thing for the Ryder fans as they were enjoying a good program after he surprised everyone by winning the championship at WrestleMania.

Big Show vs. Shaq in talks

Set to face Shaq

Shaquille O’Neil surprised everyone at WrestleMania 32 when he showed up for the Andre the Giant battle royal. Shaq and Big Show had a major showdown during the Battle Royal and it did milk the crowd pretty well. According to the rumors, WWE is indeed planning for a match between these two for next year’s WrestleMania.

The purpose of Shaq appearing at this year’s WrestleMania was to hype the same. The match, however, will not be officially announced by WWE until they are near to the actual event as there is a big chance of either Shaq or Big Show getting injured on the way.

Big announcement on the future of TNA

Troubled times

TNA, who recently moved their operations to a warehouse due to lack of financial stability, are expected to make a huge announcement in the coming weeks. According to the rumors, TNA is neck deep in trouble and the rumored investors are currently injecting money into the company to keep the television tapings going.

The announcement which could come this week might go either way. It could be either about the future of the company or it could simply be about the new investors that are coming in. Either way, TNA fans will be happy to know that the company is not repeating the mistakes that WCW made when they were cash strapped.

Multi pay-per-view feud

Set for multiple PPV feud

Charlotte and Natalya had a good match at Monday night Raw last week and from what we saw, the feud is far from over. Charlotte and Natalya are expected to square off at Payback for the championship and these two could continue their feud to one more pay-per-view. Having a multi-pay-per-view feud between these women is what’s good for the division and WWE apparently realized the same.

Meanwhile, Sasha Banks is still seen as the woman who would take forward the division and she is expected to win the title at SummerSlam. Though it is not clear on from whom she would win the title, some rumors are suggesting that Charlotte is going to hold on to the title till the biggest party of the summer.

Seth Rollins to win Money in the Bank

The real champ

The return of Seth Rollins proved to be the most talked-about rumor last week. The rumor mill suggests that WWE has two major plans for Rollins upon his impending return. The first involves Rollins returning at Money in the Bank and winning the briefcase for the second time. The second one involves Rollins returning and bringing back a second WWE championship belt saying that he never lost it in the first place.

Both the storylines look delicious and are good enough to make the WWE Universe mark out. One thing is for sure, Rollins is going to get a babyface response which WWE will make good use of.
