Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis: 24 May, 2015

Roman Reigns is one of the favourites to win MITB

Elimination Chamber proved to be the major talking point in the rumor mill this week. WWE did not get proper time to build up the pay-per-view but they have managed to pile up a lot of hype about it. There are still questions about how successful the event will be since it will be a Network exclusive, but no matter what happens, WWE has been doing a great job hyping the pay-per-view.

We are almost a week away from the actual show and there have been a lot of speculation about it. The possible surprises, twist and turns that could go down at Elimination Chamber was the major source of rumors this week while there was mentions of Money in the Bank as well. As usual, here is a look back at the top stories from the past week and their potential.

Big appearance at Elimination Chamber match

Samoa Joe is expected to appear at Elimination Chamber

Samoa Joe’s big appearance in the WWE made the internet go mad past week. The fans found it hard to stop talking about him and there are a lot of rumours going around. The most exciting one from the lot is about his appearance at Elimination Chamber. There is a big chance of Joe appearing at Money in the Bank and interfering in the Kevin Owens vs. John Cena match.

It might be the easy route for WWE to keep both Cena and Owens safe as both superstars cannot take a loss at the Chamber. Apart from this, Joe’s current deal with WWE is similar to the one that Rhyno is having which means that Joe will be appearing in NXT and he will take up independent bookings for the time being.

Reason for Neville’s exclusion from Intercontinental title Match

Neville’s exclusion was a big surprise

A lot of eyebrows were raised when Neville was excluded from the Elimination Chamber match for the Intercontinental championship. Most of the fans felt that he deserved a place there and not seeing him get a spot was a real surprise. The reason for his exclusion from the match is because WWE wants to protect Neville.

Even if he had competed in the match, Neville was not going to win the title. WWE did not want Neville to take such a loss and decided to put him in a program with Bo Dallas instead. Neville is expected to come out on top against Bo and will be involved in some major angle later.

Randy Orton might miss Elimination Chamber

WWE has no plans for Randy Orton

The reason for Randy Orton’s exclusion from the Elimination Chamber is purely creative. The WWE creative team has no credible plans for Orton at the moment and this shows the real screw up that they are going through thanks to the lack of time.

Roman Reigns, on the other hand, might be put into a program with Kane since Kane had a lot to do with Reigns not winning the title at Payback. Another possibility that is floating around is a tag team bout with Reigns and Orton on one side while Kane and Big Show will be on the other.

It is clearly not a great direction for Reigns and Orton but it might be the best choice that WWE might have with their limited time.

Seth Rollins sticking with Pedigree

Fans would love to see the Curb stomp

Seth Rollins surprised a lot of fans when he pulled off the Pedigree at Payback. This, however, is not a onetime thing and there is a big possibility of Rollins using it as his finisher for the foreseeable future. Triple H’s comparisons that happened last week on Raw were apparently a hint on this.

If Rollins is indeed going to stick with the pedigree, then WWE will have themselves a big angle in their hands. Down the road, they could pit Triple H against Rollins and it would be a great torch passing match since both the superstars will be having pedigree as their finishers. Although the pedigree sounds cool, bringing back the curb stomp is still a popular opinion.

Contenders for Money in the Bank briefcase

Dean Ambrose or Roman Reigns?

Elimination Chamber might be the next stop for WWE but there are a lot of buzz going around about the Money in the Bank as well. Last year, Seth Rollins won the briefcase and went on to have a great run with it and this year; WWE is looking to replicate the magic.

Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are the two names being discussed to win this year’s Money in the Bank. The former Shield members have been in the title picture for some time and it would make a lot of sense for them to walk around with the briefcase.

Seth being champion adds more layers to the whole scenario and at this point, it is only a matter of who impresses the WWE more.
