[VIDEO]WWE Superstar Sheamus flexes for World Turtle Day

Sheamus will play ‘Rocksteady’ in the new TMNT movie

The strong are gentle, and none exemplify it better than the WWE. The wrestling institution has shown time and again, through its many philanthropic endeavours, that it stands for compassion and humanity.

Be it working with children or cancer sufferers, WWE Superstars have shown and continue to show that their hearts aren’t the smallest of their muscles. Now, one of them has taken it a step further.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus might be a feared warrior between the ropes, but the flame-haired Irishman recently threw his considerable self behind a noble cause – conserving turtles.

The star of the upcoming movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, wished the world a happy World Turtle Day(May 23rd). Ironically, Sheamus’ character in the movie, Rocksteady, is the adolescent anthropomorphic ninja-skilled reptilians’ nemesis. Here’s a video of the master of the Brogue Kick championing the cause:

World Turtle Day is sponsored by American Tortoise Rescue, founded in 1990 by husband and wife team Susan Tellem and Marshall Thompson. The organization has since rescued over 1000 turtles and 2000 tortoises.
