Will Kurt Angle return to WWE ahead of WrestleMania XXX?

Kurt Angle

Angle to WWE?

In a recent interview with WEEI 93.7 FM, Kurt Angle said that he hasn’t ruled out a return to the WWE, giving all WWE fans something to cheer about.

What he said

When asked if he would return to the company, Angle answered: “I can’t say I’ll never go back. My (TNA) contract is up in eight months, so we’ll see.” This gives the WWE fans a hope to see Kurt Angle back from where he started his successful pro wrestling career.

At 45, Angle isn’t at the top of his game, he won’t win titles like before, but Angle thinks he can still deliver more than what people think: “I’m in a better place now than I’ve ever been in my whole entire life. I’m 45 years old now and you’d think I would be at the end of my career. Now I feel like it’s just beginning.” Angle has made it clear that he wants to wrestle in the WWE once again and can perform like he used to.

What would his return hold

Angle’s return to the WWE is still far away from reality, but even if does return to the company, it would happen only after 8 months at least, as he is contracted with TNA until Summer 2014. Nobody knows what would be the scenario in the WWE at that time, and if they would want Angle to return to the company, but considering Angle’s impact during his eight years with the WWE (mostly during the Attitude Era), signing Angle would be a step forward for the company, because WWE needs more experienced superstars, specially someone like Angle who has been a top wrestler in the WWE for years. Age has definitely took its toll over him but Angle still has the strength and determination to wrestle with WWE’s top guys.

What to expect from his return

It remains upto the WWE, that how they would plan the return of a former top superstar and a future hall of famer. They can repeat Rob Van Dam‘s case and give Angle a shot at the title, which he might even win, as he has been a 5-time World Champion and has several other accomplishments to his name, his contract will also be longer than Van Dam’s so his chances of winning the title are actually good. But the competition for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship would be tougher at that time and it won’t be easy for Angle to win the title, but the champions that he is, it doesn’t look like Angle would give up on a chance of winning WWE’s top prize and sit at the top in the WWE for one more time.

Ending his career with WWE

Yesterday, Jim Ross said: “Because I was asked on Twitter, etc I’d love to see Kurt Angle finish out his career in WWE with a select number of high level matches and a Hall of Fame Induction. That could be another high level attraction at WM31.” It looks like that the fans are not the only people who want to see Angle return, deliver some memorable matches and finish his career as a hall of famer in the WWE.

Angle has achieved everything in TNA including an induction in the TNA hall of fame, so it looks like that it’s time for Angle to return to his home in the WWE and achieve whatever is remaining.
