WWE WrestleMania 32 Rumors of the week: 26 March, 2016

The show stopper

With WrestleMania just a handful of days away, the excitement surrounding the same is on an all time high. The biggest pay-per-view of the year might not have the full-blown star power that WWE wants, but it does have the potential to deliver a solid show when the time does arrive.

The rumor mill was busy as always with WrestleMania 32 in the spotlight.

The match card is almost confirmed and the internet is buzzing about the permutation, combinations and big surprises that WWE might have in the works. With that being said, here are the top WrestleMania rumors of the past week and their potential impact on the WWE product.

Triple threat Tag team match

To be added to the card?

WWE has already booked a Dudley Boyz vs. Usos match for WrestleMania. The match is expected to be a torch passing moment for the Samoan Brothers, however, the amount of excitement surrounding the match is pretty low as WWE hasn’t been spending much time to develop the storyline.

Currently, WWE is looking to change this into a three-way tag team bout by including R-Truth and Goldust into the mix. The motive for the same is still not clear but the experience of the duo is expected to make the match special.

The fun element would also be amped up with the inclusion of the two stars.

Surprise for New Day vs. League of Nations

Big surprise on the cards?

New Day will face off against the League of Nations at WrestleMania and the match will not be for the Tag team championships. It would be, instead, a platform to consolidate the babyface turn of the New Day and at the same time, there are talks about pulling off a major surprise during the match.

The nature of the same is still a matter of discussion on the internet.

A fourth member for the New Day is one of the possibilities that could happen. There are some stars down in NXT who could make the jump and have an impact at WrestleMania. Another possibility revolves around the Hall of Fame induction of the Fabulous Free Birds, but nothing is confirmed as of now.

Winner of Andre The Giant Battle Royal

Set to get a big push

The Andre the Giant battle royal will be used as a platform to build a new superstar this year. Last year, WWE booked Big Show as the winner and it did not do any good for anyone. In the first edition, Cesaro won the battle royal and it did have an impact even if it lasted for a brief period.

This time around, WWE is planning to let Braun Strowman win the Battle Royal in an attempt to put him over.

Strowman was thrown around the ring by Brock Lesnar recently after their confrontation on SmackDown and his momentum is on an all time low right now. Despite this, WWE is high on pushing the big guy and he could have his WrestleMania moment this year.

Change in plans

What could be the fallout

The fallout of the Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker match is still up for discussion in the WWE. Initially, WWE had plans of letting Shane win and take over Monday Night Raw. He would then fire Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, which would then lead to Hunter taking control of SmackDown in a full-fledged Brand Split.

However, the plans have been changed according to the rumors, and now, if Shane wins – instead of Hunter and Stephanie – Vince McMahon would be leaving the company. The status of the brand split is also filled with doubts.

The reason why WWE is thinking about an alternative to the first plan is still unknown and things could probably be clear once we head closer to the event.

Main event of WrestleMania 32

Cannot headline?

WWE is having second thoughts about having Roman Reigns and Triple H close the show at WrestleMania. Although the Reigns vs. Triple H match is hyped up big time and has the WWE World Heavyweight championship on the line, the dismal reactions of the WWE Universe for Reigns is worrying everyone backstage.

Closing the show with the fans jeering Reigns is not apparently what WWE wants. As a counter-measure, WWE is planning to book Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker as the show-stopping match of the show.

Considering that there is a lot at stake in the match and since the fans are unlikely to jeer both Shane and Undertaker, this would be a best for the business decision from the WWE creative team.
