Wrestlers on Total Divas not allowed to win Diva Championship? Stephanie McMahon answers

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports on Monday, WWE’s Cheif Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon was asked whether reports of WWE preventing wrestlers on Total Divas to win the Divas Championship held any truth.

“Is there any truth to the report that the wrestlers on Total Divas aren’t allowed to win the Divas Championship?” was the question to which McMahon replied saying, “Absolutely not. I honestly don’t even know how that rumor got started.”

“There is no policy,” she added. “I think it would be awesome to have one of the Total Divas as our champion. I think it would drive interest in the storyline. I would never say never.”

It was believed that Vince McMahon had enforced a rule of not allowing Total Divas cast members to have a chance at the WWE Divas championship title.
