5 Booking decisions for Kevin Owens

What could WWE do with him next?

The brand split marked the start of a new era in WWE. With the entire roster getting split into two, superstars were bound to get a better booking in the roster thanks to the reduced competition. There are some notable superstars who will be hopeful of getting a different booking thanks to the brand split and the most prominent one from the lot would be Kevin Owens.

Owens, who made an immediate impact on the main roster with a feud against John Cena, is currently experiencing a downward spiral in his booking despite being over with the fans. There are some booking decisions that WWE could employ to make Owens more impactful and here is a rundown on them.

5: Tag team with Chris Jericho

Owens and Jericho would be a great pairing.

From the looks of it, WWE has already chosen this path. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens are two superstars that are capable of creating a reaction from the fans no matter what. Their gimmicks have common traits as well, making them a good combination. And the best part about this feud will be the insults that these two are going to slur out to both their opponents and to each other.

The combined impact of their promos is guaranteed to be entertaining and their addition could be something fresh for the tag team division. The brand does lack a credible heel tag team apart from The Club so Owens and Jericho fit in perfectly into the mix.

4: Fun team with Sami Zayn

Owens and Zayn would make an interesting pair, to say the least.

The history between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is well-known. The best-friends turned on-screen blood rivals have put together some delicious matches in WWE so far and it would be a great angle if WWE brings them together to form an unlikely tag team. Two contrasting superstars forming tag teams have worked in the past for WWE with the latest example being Team Hell No.

However, unlike, Daniel Bryan and Kane, Zayn and Owens could bring something new and more entertaining to the table. If the angle gets stale, WWE could always split them and have one more match to wrap things up with the ideal platform being WrestleMania.

3: The anti-hero

Stone Cold 2.0

Kevin Owens, despite being a heel on paper, has a good amount of fan backing due to the talent that he has. Owens has enough in-ring ability to hang in with anyone in the business right now and his entertaining promos are always a treat for the fans. All these suggest that Kevin Owens could be a good babyface. He need not be the typical babyface that always takes the right path to win; he could be the anti-hero babyface that has shades of gray.

This worked out well for CM Punk a few years back and Owens is not far behind Punk when it comes to the microphone abilities. Owens could be the voice for the voiceless.

2: United States title bound

Reigns vs. Owens will be a solid angle.

Roman Reigns entered the United States Championship scene last week when he confronted Rusev on Raw. With the involvement of Reigns and due to the brand split, WWE are be looking to elevate the championship. Reigns and Rusev look bound to collide at SummerSlam for the championship and we could have only two obvious outcomes. Either Reigns could win or Rusev could retain.

If Reigns wins, Owens can have a one on one feud with the Samoan Superman for the United States Championship. In this second scenario, WWE could have a three-way battle for the championship. either way, the United States championship is going to benefit.

1: Owens club

Anderson and Gallows could use a new leader and Owens could be that person.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, at this point in time, could hang around on their own in the tag team division. But then again, the chance of Anderson and Gallows being stereotyped just like all the other tag teams in the division is heavily possible as we move along. AJ Styles gettinf drafted to SmackDown changed the landscape and The Club, which was creating buzz, died down a little.

A leader is what Anderson and Gallows miss right now, and if WWE is willing to give the position to Owens, he is bound to impress. He is gold on the microphone, he is a great wrestler and everything he tweets out gets over like wildfire: the perfect leader to lead the Club.
