A global phenomenon that attracts thousands of fans worldwide, the Comic Con is a spectacle to behold. While the largest ones occur in the United States of America, it didn’t take a lot of time for organisers to realise that India are a huge market, with dedicated, loyal fans and in 2009, they had their first convention in India.

The first Comic Con was held in Mumbai on 22nd & 23rd October 2009 and called the Comic Con Express. The first convention itself was held in Delhi on 19th & 20th February 2011. Just 2 years later, it expanded to Bangalore and Hyderabad, where it is now held annually.

As lovers of comic books and characters in them, the Indian audience will also be able to relate very closely to WWE Superstars and their journey to the top. An estimated 30,000+ people attend the Comic Con in every city per year, and knowing this, WWE is all geared up to cater to passionate fans in one of their most important international markets.

WWE has seen a major revamp of sorts with the recent brand split, adding a breath of fresh air to the product. The New Era of the WWE is witnessing a talented crop of superstars such as Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles and Roman Reigns taking over from the old guard.

The fans have turned in great numbers as they're getting what they desired to see. Kevin Owens as the WWE Universal Champion on RAW and AJ Styles as the deserved WWE Champion on Smackdown Live is something the fans were very happy to witness in the WWE. That is just the tip of the iceberg as refreshing feuds, fascinating promos and some five-star matches being dished out on a weekly basis have made WWE programming an enthralling watch.

It is no secret that India has one of the largest WWE fan bases in the world with top Superstars such as John Cena, Roman Reigns and The Undertaker commanding an impressive fan following. Being part of the Comic Con gives the WWE the opportunity to tap into the loyal comic book fan base, one which has strong roots and is full of fun. This will help both the organisations grow in the Indian market, starting off with Hyderabad.

The Comic Con also gives fans of the WWE a chance to live the lives of the WWE Superstars by imitating them as they will get the chance to come out to thrilling music and lights, just like the Superstars!

Comic Con Hyderabad takes place on 24th & 25th September at the HITEX Exhibition Centre where there will be a WWE stand. At the WWE stand, you will get the chance to:

– Enter the WWE entrance set, ramp walk on it, and get a chance to re-enact the entrance of Superstars with music & lighting.

– We will record your entrance and upload it on our Social Media accounts and have you and other fans tag and share it with your friends.

– Get the opportunity to click pictures with your favourite superstar cut-outs.
