Backstage news on Vince wanting to end Lesnar vs Taker feud at Hell In A Cell

Vince wants to end Lesnar vs Taker feud in order to move them in different directions

The rubber match too big for WrestleMania is set. The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will fight once more in a venue fit for both: Hell in a Cell. The two behemoths, who will battle inside the demonic structure on October 25, 2015, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, are going to settle the score once and for all.

Lesnar started the series by defeating Undertaker at WrestleMania 30, ending his WrestleMania undefeated streak. April 6, 2014, is a date that will live in infamy for many WWE fans. Things would never be the same. That led to Undertaker seeking revenge at WWE Battleground. He cost Lesnar his WWE world heavyweight title bout against Seth Rollins and sought another battle with the Beast. They fought at SummerSlam, where the Deadman got his wish with controversial results.

And now, it looks like this epic of a saga is coming to a close. It was rumored that Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker was originally planned for WrestleMania 32 next year, but plans have changed and the feud is ending at Hell In a Cell next month. With Lesnar’s limited dates being laid out in advance to allow him time to plan around them, he was only scheduled for the October 3rd live WWE Network special from Madison Square Garden.

It was first assumed that WWE went overboard on their booking Taker and Lesnar to boost the next WWE Network subscriber count, but Hell In a Cell won’t be included in that announcement as the period ends September 30th. And now according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon made the decision to end the Lesnar vs. Taker program at Hell In a Cell instead of WrestleMania, because he feels it’s time to end the feud and move both characters in new directions.

With that being said, there’s still no word yet on who either man will be facing at WrestleMania 32, but it’s been almost confirmed Lesnar will not be going up against The Rock or “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Lesnar and Taker ending their feud would be poetic given the Cell’s history. Hell in a Cell has always been billed as the match that ends feuds. Taker and Triple H settled their issues after their WrestleMania 28 encounter. Another example was the nearly two-year-long war Triple H had with Michaels.

One way or another, the rivalry between The Beast Incarnate and The Deadman will end. It’s apropos they will settle the score on October 25 inside the WWE’s most treacherous structure. It’s also why Undertaker versus Brock Lesnar at Hell In A Cell is the right call.
