This time last year, Dolph Ziggler was holding the coveted World Heavyweight Championship belt in WWE. He was on his way up in the company. With his show stealing style and great mic skills, there is little doubt among the fans that he is the best natural talent and legitimate guy for main event status.

He proved this many times by putting on some great entertaining matches on the card and established himself as one of the best workers in WWE.

Since then, his career took a downturn. Although he is the reigning Intercontinental champion now, his return to main event status is very doubtful. Dolph Ziggler is still coming out to one of the biggest pops of the night, providing the most entertaining bouts with same energy and effort.

So probably there is something that's going wrong. Exactly what is it?

There are few issues that went against him. According to Pro Wrestling Torch, ““Ziggler is good enough in the ring to re-earn management’s enthusiasm from time to time, but his in-ring style doesn’t actually help him in the eyes of top management because he’s seen as someone who works indy style insistently despite advice to slow down and make every move count, and that he sells too much and in an exaggerated fashion.”

The Torch adds that he is seen “as only decent on the mic.” His constant effort to surpass the veteran midcarder Billy Gunn’s “Bad Ass” character is another negative factor. His habitual twerking on the stage during the ring entrance also doesn’t do any good for him.

The publication adds that due to his tendency to speak his mind in interviews and on Twitter, it has worked against him as he has been deemed liable by the WWE officials.
