Stephanie McMahon- The meltdown was the icing on the cake

Survivor Series is over but the talk around it is not. By the time the Pay per View ended, it was one of the most trending topics in the social world. Ziggler was trending, the main event was trending and so was a man named Sting. It has to be noted that WWE did a masterful job of putting some major spotlight on a PPV by making a number of teases. They teased that Randy Orton will return, they teased that Ryback will be play an important factor in the main event for Team Cena and there were also speculations that AJ Lee is set to leave the WWE following her loss to Nikki Bella for the Divas Title, none of which happened.

And through all of that there was this little tease that was making the rounds. A little noise was made but it has made so many times that it didn’t matter that it was being made again. Sting’s debut has been much awaited. Much, much awaited but it was expected to happen the way it did. The fans went berserk. Some already figured out, watching the black and white cryptic titantron that it was Sting, after all there were some split second images that popped up. He and Triple H had a long face off which ultimately led to a ‘This Is Awesome’ chant. Whether it was just for Sting or the face off, doesn’t matter. There is no need anymore to watch fan made videos of Sting debuting in the WWE. The moment has finally arrived and it will forever be in record.

Yet, the many teases that WWE made, made the main event even more exciting.

Ryback’s elimination

It’s like this-whenever Cena or Seth Rollins entered the ring, one knew that they will stand the test of time. It makes no sense to have them eliminated early on into the match. And so the same was expected of Ryback. He was the member that both Team Authority and Team Cena desperately vied for and he was said to be the difference maker. And to see him be the first eliminated superstar from Team Cena was unbelievable. That very much made clear that maybe something more unbelievable is in store.

Ryback did not go down without a fight. He was dominating everytime he entered the ring. It took two men to join forces to eliminate him. Monday Night Raw saw him have a thumping victory over Mark Henry. And Kane ran away screaming from the Big Guy. And Ryback’s actually quite funny.

Randy Orton’s return

Randy Orton is yet to return. Even though Survivor series took place in his hometown and he had some major beef with the Authority, it would have been apt to see him cost his former team the match. It would have been some sweet revenge. The fans expected it. By the time Cena was eliminated, an Orton chant broke out. It would have been lame to see Ziggler lose early. It was expected that he’ll make a comeback and Harper and Kane will get eliminated but how was the question. Such things could have been doen in many ways but Ziggler did all of it on his own. He was not in the best of conditions and he was getting tossed all over the place and to think that he’s already suffered two concussions in his WWE career, he had a towering prospect in front of him. WWE is a form of theatre and an actor on stage has to make the audience believe and react to each and every move of his in the way he wants. Ziggler was a major success in that aspect and he became the star of the moment and there were only chants for Ziggler, until Triple H made his business to determine the result. That’s when another orton chants and expectation for him to return would have been apt but the WWE had Sting make a return.

The star of this particular PPV and the main event were Ziggler and Sting, in this order only.
