Owens makes his way to the ring

After Elimination Chamber it’ll be safe to say that Kevin Owens has gathered up quite a storm. The NXT Champion came to his first WWE PPV match with a heck lot of impetus riding behind him. He had pop up powerbombed his way till here. He was about to face the face who runs the place. John Cena is no ordinary man but on Sunday, Owens made him look like one.

Owens looked extraordinary, pulling off moves contrary to his build. Owens came to fight and fight he did. He came, he fought and he won.

Here are the 5 cool things he did in his match:

1.That Moonsault

Owens came out looking like Vader

Up until this move the match was a slow burn with both Owens and Cena getting some offence in. Owens being the heel had the upper hand. This moonsault did not land him on Cena. He missed but it was enough to get the audience all rattled. The way he transitioned into the moonsault jumping from the second turnbuckle to the third was exhilarating.

This was the move that changed the course of the match. This was the move that may have got our attention to Owens if you did not have it in the first place.

Earlier in the match, Cena had kicked out at 2 after getting the pop- up powerbomb.

After the moonsault, Owens got an AA.

2. Kick-out

Owens kicked out of an AA

Not many people can say that they kicked out of John Cena’s AA. A few weeks back, Sami Zayn became one of the people who could. At Elimination Chamber Owens became the latest superstar to do it. And this wasn’t even the best part of the match.

This, though, indicated that despite of this being just his first match on the main roster, that too in a PPV, Owens is here to fight and win and make a major statement, which he did after the match.

3. Better at being Cena than Cena?

Owens mocking Cena

Well, that will be an overstatement saying that Owens is better at being Cena than Cena. He isn’t. But he tried and he was brilliant in pulling off that mockery. He tried giving a five knuckle shuffle which was unsuccessful and sloppy looking.

But when he picked up Cena for the AA, it was just poetic. Owens tried to get Cena’s Attitude Adjusted. This was a move that made some people celebrate this boldness and some just be appalled by his sheer disrespect towards the 15 time World Champion.

And in the end, he did dole out some ‘veteran advice’ for Cena.

4. On top of the world

Owens and Cena had a classic match

This match may be remembered for its result but thinking about the result is incomplete without thinking about all the moves Kevin Owens pulled off. And some of them were pretty high flying stuff. He was like Vader.

Owens countered an attempted top rope suplex from Cena into a brainbuster. This was one of the most brilliant counters ever. And then he ran to the other side of the ring, got to the top rope and hit a Jeff Hardy- like Swanton Bomb..JEFF HARDY- like

That was awesome.

5. He came. He fought. He won.

What a way to finish a fight

The last time Cena lost clean, shoulders to the match, without any interference, without any cheating involved to get him down was at Summerslam 2014. And the man who defeated him was Brock Lesnar. Kevin Owens did exactly that in his first match in the main roster. That was a huge push for him and a huge push for NXT. He started a fight and he finished it.

He then gave a promo to provide Cena with some veteran advice. He asked Cena to leave. This was his time and maybe, just maybe, when he said ‘The Champ is Here’ he may have just meant that he is here to stay on the main roster.
