Huge double turn plans nixed by Vince McMahon, backstage news on Reigns, The Rock to be honored

A double turn would have saved Survivor Series from being a letdown

- Seth Rollins’ injury not only robbed the WWE Universe of a solid match but also the chance to witness a possible double turn at Survivor Series.

According to intriguing backstage reports, the creative team had planned for a double turn in the Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns match, that is before Rollins succumbed to a knee injury during the European tour.

Rollins was set to make his much-anticipated face turn while Roman was to embrace the heel persona. This idea, however, was shot down by Vince Mcmahon, who despised the angle and wanted nothing to do with it.

McMahon apparently nixed the idea as he is unsurprisingly and overly stubborn on Reigns being the top babyface of the promotion. Vince shot down the idea, in spite of a detailed briefing by a WWE producer on the plans for a Reigns heel turn and the future storylines.

When it comes to the Samoan Superman’s reception backstage, two feelings have stemmed among the WWE officials.

One is the feeling that Reigns is still raw and not over with fans to deserve the renewed push, and that immense work needs to be done in getting him over with the WWE Universe.

The second perspective points to Reigns being ready to carry the company and that the current push would result to ultimate championship glory as a top face. All the apprehension apart, Triple H also seems to be supportive of the push Reigns has been getting.

- From Roman Reigns, we shift our attention to his legendary cousin Rock, who is set to be on the receiving end of a huge honor from Muscle & Fitness Magazine later this month. The 75-year-old magazine is set to name Rock the ‘Man of the Century’ in an issue that would be out soon.

Rock has been using the accolade as a hashtag of late and has been posting teaser clips about the honor. He commented on Facebook and also posted this video on Instagram regarding the huge honor.

“After 75yrs of the iconic magazine’s existence, I was chosen by Muscle & Fitness to be their first ever “MAN OF THE CENTURY”. Truly an honor. Can’t wait for you guys to read the story as it may help a few of you out there who are going thru hard times and struggles and yet have ambition to achieve your own greatness. In newsstands DEC 1st.”
