WWE: Jim Ross reveals he was fired from the WWE

Jim Ross and Ric Flair were fired together from the WWE

Former WWE ringside commentator, Jim Ross, was at the “The Opie & Anthony Show” on Monday where he was asked about his contract termination for the WWE.

Ross did not hesitate from revealing in his interview that he was accused of being drunk and shared his thoughts on the WWE return of Ric Flair as well.

It all took place in the Axxess panel in last year’s SummerSlam where Jim Ross served as the host. The panel were questioning several former superstars including Ric Flair. When Nature Boy’s turn came, he went over the top as he mentioned his recently deceased son and gave several references to TNA wrestling.

Ric Flair’s contract was cancelled and he was removed from the mid-panel. Jim Ross was called into a meeting with the WWE officials and was fired for not being able to conduct the proceedings properly. Although it was projected that Ross left on his own terms, he clarified in the interview that his contract was terminated.

There were accusations pointed towards Ross that he had been drunk during the time. But Ross revealed that he only had a cocktail and nothing else. As for Flair, he had been drinking all day long.

Jim Ross then went on to discuss how it was a bad idea in the first place to include Ric Flair in that show. His son’s death had broke him down and many people thought it would have been better off among his close friends. But Ross stated that what he really needed was counselling. He also mentioned that Flair returning to the WWE was a positive thing for him to move on in life.

Ross concluded the interview by saying that he was happy to have cut all his knots with the WWE.

Rumours have been circulating that Ross might be up for something big in the UFC.
