At SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar annihilated Randy Orton and opened up the forehead of The Viper with a series of unforgiving elbows. The Apex Predator required 10 staples to seal the wound and the injury also ruled him out of his BackLash clash against Bray Wyatt, with Kane competing against the Eater of Worlds instead.

Orton was set to face Lesnar in what was billed as the rematch of SummerSlam, but Paul Heyman came out to up the stakes ahead of the clash. Heyman insisted that a normal match between the two Superstars was not good enough and instead revealed that Stephani McMahon and Mick Foley had agreed to change the match to a first-ever ‘Suplex City Death Match’ – with no disqualifications or count-outs or stoppage due to blood.

He then went on to introduce his client as ‘ The University of Violence’.

The Beast Incarnate had the upper hand at the start of the match as he hit The Viper with a couple of Suplexes, but Orton responded with a chair and followed it with some RKOs outta nowhere, only for Lesnar to kick out every time. The Beast fought back and nailed the F5 before pinning Orton for the win.

Following the match, it looked like Lesnar was going to give Orton a similar treatment as at SummerSlam as he entered the ring with a chair, but instead opted to hit The Viper for a couple of more suplexes.

Result: Brock Lesnar defeats Randy Orton via pinfall

#7 Mark Herny vs. Primo

Mark Henry, who recently celebrated 20 years of his WWE debut, got the better of the Primo from Shining Stars in a quick match.

Result: Mark Henry beats Primo via pinfall

#8 Three-Way WWE Tag Team Title match: New Day (c) vs. The Club vs. Enzo & Cass

The New Day might lose their Tag Team title later tonight at Clash of Champions, but last night they got the better of The Club and Enzo & Cass in a Three-Way match for the Tag Team title. Although, it is almost a given that no one would drop the title at a live event, but still it just might be the last time The New Day walk out as champions. Xavier Woods pinned Karl Anderson for the win.

Result: New Day defeat The Club and Enzo & Cass via pinfall

#9 Rusev (with Lana) vs. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is expected to beat Rusev tonight and win the United States Championship as the WWE wants the Big Dog to work his way up through mid-card matches. Reigns came up against The Bulgarian Brute at the live event and won the match via disqualification after Rusev used the Bell Ring as a weapon to attack his opponent. However, Roman fought back and nailed the Spear on Rusev to end the match ahead of the main event.

Result: Roman Reigns beat Rusev via disqualification

#10 Triple-Threat Match: Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens will be defending his title against Seth Rollins later tonight at Clash of Champions. But KO beat Zayn and Rollins in a Triple-Threat match after he hit Zayn with a Pop-Up Powerbomb before covering him for the pin.

Result: Kevin Owens beat Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn
