WWE Live Event Evansville Results 17th September, 2016

Owens successfully defended his title

WWE was live from the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana with a number of superstars from Raw in action. Here are the results from the WWE Live Event in Evansville.

#1 Bayley, Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox vs. Charlotte, Dana Brooke and Nia Jax

Despite their on-screen fallout at last week’s RAW, Charlotte and Dana Brooke teamed up at the live event along with Nia Jax. Raw’s top babyface, Bayley, also teamed up with former top babyface Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox.

At the end of the match, it was Brooke who tapped out to Banks handing to win to Banks, Bayley and Fox.

Result: Bayley, Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox defeat Charlotte, Dana Brooke and Nia Jax by submission

#2 Darren Young (with Bob Backlund) vs. Titus O’Neil

The inconclusive feud between Young and O’ Neil continued and this time, it was Young who defeated O’ Neil, obviously with Bob Backlund by the ringside.

Result: Darren Young defeats Titus O’Neil by pinfall

#3 Braun Strowman vs. Sin Cara

After Sin Cara became the first proper wrestler to come up against Strowman at last week’s Raw, the two again squared off in the middle of the ring and Strowman used his brute strength to send the high-flyer packing in what turned out to be something close to a squash match.

Result: Braun Strowman beats Sin Cara by pinfall

#4 Goldust and R-Truth vs. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel

Goldust, who has been away from the WWE Tv for a while now was seen pairing up with R-Truth to come up against Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Dallas is expected to receive a huge push in the near future, but he was on the losing end last night.

Result: Goldust and R-Truth beat Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel

#5 Rusev (with Lana) vs. Roman Reigns

Arguably the biggest pop of the night goes to Roman Reigns, who beat the Bulgarian Brute via disqualification after being hit by a low blow. As Reigns was preparing for his finisher on Rusev, Lana made her way to the ring apron distracting the Big Dog and as Reigns made her way to the former Diva, he was hit with the low blow by Rusev.

Result: Roman Reigns beats Rusev via disqualification

#6 Triple Threat Match: The New Day vs. The Shining Stars vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass

The New Day continued their dominance as the best tag-team on the red brand with another win over The Shining Stars & Enzo and Cass via pinfall.

Result: The New Day beat The Shining Stars & Enzo and Cass by pinfall

#7 Karl Anderson vs. Cesaro

Cesaro is presumably tired of competing against Sheamus, considering that the duo have been feuding since the beginning of time and he found himself a new opponent in Karl Anderson of The Club. In a match that was filled with old school moves, Cesaro got the better of Karl Anderson despite the presence of Luke Gallows.

Result: Cesaro defeats Karl Anderson by pinfall

#8 WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins

The reigning WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens successfully defended his title against Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn in the presence of the 4000 odd fans at the Ford Center.

With Clash of Champions scheduled for next week, it remains to be seen if Owens is still the champion after the pay-per-view. But for now, it is the Kevin Owens show!

Result: Kevin Owens beat Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn
