WWE’s first stop in their tour of New Zealand and Australia came in Auckland, New Zealand on August 10th. Due to this, John Cena, AJ Styles, and Apollo Crews did not appear on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live.
Here are the results from the WWE Live event in Auckland:
*They announced an NXT tour coming soon to NZ and Australia, an expectedly big pop for that.
* Apollo Crews defeated Sheamus with a roll up
* Braun Strowman defeated Jey Uso. Jimmy Uso returned and joined his brother for a post-match double superkick to Braun. Jimmy is also expected to back in action on TV soon
* WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day retained over The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson)
* Finn Balor defeated Chris Jericho in the match of the night. Great heel work by Jericho and overall extremely entertaining bout
* WWE United States Champion Rusev retained over Titus O'Neil in a quick match. Good heel work by Lana before the match as well
* John Cena defeated AJ Styles in a great bout that saw The Club interfere and a referee taking a bump.
* WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks retained over Charlotte with the Bank Statement
* Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens in what is said to be close to the match of the night
* Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins with a spear in the main event
