WWE Live Event results - Leeds, 6th November 2016

The crowd at the First Direct Arena were thoroughly entertained

Following their show in Minehead, the RAW roster’s next stop was Leeds, England. The show took place at the First Direct in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The near 14,000-capacity arena had the top section tarped off with curtains, with the open part filled with the fans.

The show had a bunch of exciting matches and moments for the UK fans. Here are the results and highlights from the event:

#1 New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows (RAW Tag Team Championship match)

The show got off to a hot start with a title match with the insanely over team of New Day in action. Enzo Amore and Big Cass also got the crowd going into the match, which was said to be a very entertaining one.

Cesaro, at one point, hit consecutive Cesaro Swings, on Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Big E and Kofi Kingston. The challengers were unsuccessful, however, as Big E and Kofi Kingston retained their championships after hitting the Midnight Hour on Karl Anderson.

Result: The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) def. Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Cesaro and Sheamus, and Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows via pinfall.

#2 Bo Dallas vs Neville

The following match saw Bo Dallas face off against Neville. Neville came out to an incredibly underwhelming reaction from the crowd, despite the show being in his home country of England. The match was identical to the one these two had in Minehead.

Dallas dominated Neville for the entire match before Neville made a comeback to hit The Red ArrowDallas for the win.

Result: Neville def. Bo Dallas via pinfall

#3 Goldust, R Truth and Darren Young vs Shining Stars (Epico and Primo) and Titus O’Neil

This match started off with a noticeable botch during the introduction. JoJo announced Darren Young as being accompanied to the ring by his mentor and WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund, even though Backlund wasn’t there.

Another fun match for the crowd with a lot of comedy involved. Eventually, the babyface team of Golden Truth and Darren Young picked up the win.

Result: Goldust, R Truth, and Darren Young vs Shining Stars (Epico and Primo) and Titus O’Neill.

#4 Sami Zayn vs Chris Jericho

Up next was the match between Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn. Chris Jericho was in a foul mood, to begin with, as he tweeted this out before the show:

Jericho was the most over wrestler on tonight’s show. He cut a great pre-match heel promo and berated the Leeds crowd. The crowd wanted Jericho to put them on the ‘List of Jericho’. Jericho, being the smarmy heel he is, refused. Sami Zayn secured the victory following the Blue Thunder Bomb.

Result: Sami Zayn def. Chris Jericho via pinfall

#5 Sin Cara vs Curtis Axel

Sin Cara faced Curtis Axel in the next match. Compared to the Minehead event, Cara got no response from the Leeds crowd. Also, Sin Cara reportedly introduced a new entrance theme music. The Luchador was able to get the pinfall victory after a Swanton Bomb.

Result: Sin Cara def. Curtis Axel via pinfall

On a side note, it’s being reported that Chris Jericho and Sin Cara got into a backstage fight at the event.

#6 Roman Reigns vs Rusev (WWE United Championship match)

Roman Reigns received yet another massive ovation continuing the trend from the Minehead show. Reigns seems to be unanimously over with the live event crowds. Rusev was accompanied to the ring by his wife Lana, who also got a good reaction from the Leeds audience.

After intervening in the match, Lana was ordered by WWE official John Kone, to leave the ringside area. A funny moment was when John Kone was seen gesticulating at Lana by pointing towards the direction she had to go. He also repeated the cartwheel he did the night before in Minehead. The finish saw Reigns hitting Rusev with the Spear to pick up the win.

Result: Roman Reigns def. Rusev via pinfall to retain the WWE United States Championship

#7 Sasha Banks, Bayley and Alicia Fox vs RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte, Dana Brooke and Nia Jax (Emma as special guest referee)

This was the penultimate match on the card, with Emma once again acting as the special guest referee. Unlike the Minehead event, it was Bayley this time, who got the pinfall victory, when she hit Dana Brooke with the Bayley-to-Belly. It should be noted that Bayley got a massive pop during her entrance:

Result: Sasha Banks, Bayley and Alicia Fox def. Charlotte, Dana Brooke and Nia Jax

#8 Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins in a Street Fight ( WWE Universal Championship match)

The title match headlined the show once again. The result wasn’t different, however, as Kevin Owens defeated Seth Rollins via a roll-up to hold onto to his championship. Before rolling Rollins up, the WWE Universal Champion used a kendo stick to hit a low blow on the challenger.

After the match, Seth Rollins power bombed Kevin Owens through the table, much to the delight of the crowd. Rollins later cut a babyface promo, thanked the Leeds crowd for their love and support. He also reflected that it was during this time last year, he suffered his knee injury on the UK tour, and how miserable he felt for being out for seven months.

The RAW roster will now head to Glasgow, Scotland for tomorrow night’s Monday Night RAW, to be held at a sold out SSE Hydro Arena.
