The two opponents for the main event face off in the opening segment

WWE Main Event kicked off in Corpus Christi, Texas with Dean Ambrose coming down to the ring obviously in a bad mood. The Lunatic Fringe was clearly upset about missing Monday Night Raw and even though his main event encounter was with Alberto Del Rio, the focus was majorly on his former Shield partner Seth Rollins as he challenged the Money In The Bank briefcase holder.

Alberto Del Rio came out instead and had a few words to say to Ambrose before attacking his injured arm and escaping from the ring.

Here are the results from the show.

The Usos vs Rybaxel

WWE Tag-Team champions The Usos took on Rybaxel in the opening match with the team of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E joining at the commentary table. It has been interesting to see this faction setting their eyes on the Samoan brothers for the second time.

It was a good tag-team battle as the duo of Ryback and Curtis Axel worked efficiently on Jey Uso. But Ryback made an error in judgement from the top rope which allowed Jey to tag his brother Jimmy in. Jimmy picked up the momentum with intense attacks and a chaotic situation arose in the ring. But the teamwork of Rikishi’s sons reigned supreme as they managed to pull off a victory against their opponents.

Winner: The Usos

Following the match, The Usos had their eyes on Big E, Woods and Kofi at ringside but they did not engage in any physical action.

Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil vs Zack Ryder and Tyson Kidd

The new tag-team of Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil or rather “Slater Gator” as we know it, faced Zack Ryder and Tyson Kidd. Ryder and Kidd had the initiative in the initial stages as they worked effectively on Slater before he tagged in Neil.

O’Neil put his strength to good effect as he dominated the match and completely ignored Slater’s call for a tag. Titus was forced to make a tag once Ryder rebounded, but Heath Slater was met by the speed and unorthodox style of Tyson Kidd. Working extremely well together, Kidd and Ryder seemed to have the match in control. However, by O'Neil and Ryder, Kidd didn't see Slater who powerslammed him from the top rope for the victory.

Winner: Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil

Seth Rollins interrupts Dean Ambrose’s fight

Dean Ambrose vs Alberto Del Rio

The announcers referenced Del Rio being cleared by WWE doctors beforehand after he suffered an eye injury Monday night at Raw TV. As soon as the bell sounded, Ambrose attacked Del Rio's eye to take advantage. But, Del Rio fought him off and targeted Ambrose's injured shoulder. Del Rio took control of the match heading to break.

Del Rio continued to work on Ambrose's shoulder. Ambrose fought back, then the two men went back and forth. When Ambrose got a slight advantage, Seth Rollins walked out on stage, distracting Ambrose, who left the ring to pick a fight with Rollins. The bell sounded to end the match, then Ambrose got the best of Rollins to send Mr. MITB packing to the stage. Ambrose stood tall in the ring as he was announced as the winner of the main event to close the show.

Winner: Dean Ambrose via DQ
