WWE/MMA News: Conor McGregor's epic response to WrestleMania rumors

Your double UFC Champion, The Notorious Conor McGregor

The rumors of Conor McGregor being WWE bound have been spreading like wildfire ever since the loudmouthed Irish created history at UFC 205 by becoming the first fighter to hold two UFC Championships simultaneously. The Notorious one himself responded to the rampant speculation of a grand WrestleMania appearance on Instagram.

When asked by a fan about the viability of him making a shocking appearance at the show of shows, McGregor responded in typical fashion and said “F**k WrestleMania”. Conor’s not-so-pleasant statement proves that his focus is solely on creating more history in the UFC for the moment, despite the fact that WWE is pretty high on getting him on board.

The talk of McGregor’s possible move to the WWE stemmed from his post-fight press conference after UFC 205. Adding to fuel to the rumors were Triple H’s appearance at Madison Square Garden for the biggest card in UFC history, with many claiming Hunter went to entice Mcgregor into signing a contract.

Another factor that pointed to the mega signing was McGregor’s left field announcement at the post-fight press conference after UFC 205. He divulged his plans of taking some time off as he is expecting a kid with his wife, Dee Devlin. He also revealed his interest – more like demanded, that he be given a stake in the biggest MMA promotion in the world. He claimed he wanted a piece of the cake and made his intentions clear of being one of the owners of UFC.

This was after McGregor put on a masterclass against former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez earlier in the night. McGregor showed why he is the best striker in the game by knocking Alvarez out in the second round with a classic combination. Here is video of the finish:

While McGregor may not have publicly shown interest in a move to the WWE with his recent response, Vince McMahon is a stubborn businessman who would go to any lengths to sign the hottest name in the world of combat sports. And for that very reason, we just can’t rule out the fantastic prospect of seeing McGregor in a WWE ring.
