WWE Monday Night RAW, 31st March 2014 - Five promising developments

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

It was a night where odds were tried to be evened out and a night where a couple of cluttered situations were given some brevity. Most of this was just decent but not good enough though the main event ended the Wrestlemania go home show on a great note. Here are five promising developments for Wrestlemania:

1. How to be a Heel

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

Triple H has really made himself look qualified to write an entire book on how to be a perfect heel. The crowd just wants to see him get buried. The main event was the highlight of the show where Bryan came out of nowhere in his hometown crowd and gave Triple H a dose of his own medicine.

The video package which showed Triple H’s dominance over the years was just so apt for people to pile up heat towards him. He’s using the Internet and everything else around him to churn quite a great heel momentum towards him. It definitely helps that Triple H has total creative control over character.

This match between HHH and Bryan has had the best build up so far.

2. From the Goat to The Sheep.

The goat mask

The goat mask

So Daniel Bryan might be called Goat of WWE or is he simply G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time, duh) but the sheep mask is an essential part of the Wyatt Family gimmick which definitely symbolizes being a follower of the Bray Wyatt ideology.

The lasting image from last week saw Cena in that Sheep mask and this week he unmasked himself and tried to even the odds between him and the leader of the Buzzards. Promo after promo and image after image, this feud heads into Wrestlemania with the expectation that a future star will shine bright.

3. Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The first cluttered scenario that the WWE seems to have worked well into Wrestlemania is building this battle royal into something relevant. Hope it does not happen in the pre show. This will certainly feature many stars with aborted pushes and many others who were once a big deal and are getting a chance to be a big deal again and it also features WWE’s trusted jobbers.

They did have a brawl all over Raw and sure got the audience interested in finding who’s going to win the Battle Royal.

4. The Divas, totally

AJ Lee

AJ Lee

So an entire roster of divas is going to face AJ for her title at Wrestlemania and WWE has surely built it to look like AJ Lee will see the end of her historic reign. The WWE can either have a short match at Mania and end it just like that which the WWE is very capable of doing and also capable of getting away with it OR they can actually have a champion that looks promising for the future. Having Naomi win might just lead to another set of mediocre title defenses. Maybe have Emma win it and give the character some much deserved momentum?

5. Don’t hurry, WWE

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns

I thought it was great to see Roman Reigns and Kane have a very mediocre match. The WWE seriously wants us to believe that Roman Reigns is the next big thing. They showed how much they believe in having a Roman Empire. They are 80 percent behind him. Especially after the momentum that Rollins has gained in the past few weeks, it’s not believable that people actually vote in hoardes for the poll that WWE has which obviously seems rigged.

Right now, Roman Reigns is so much better with the Shield than without them. It was proved with his match with Bray Wyatt and in this match against Kane too. So WWE, don’t hurry with the Shield’s break up and Roman Reigns’ solo push.
