WWE Monday Night Raw preview: 21st November 2016

The Myth that defeated the Beast

Let’s try not to be negative for a moment here. What happened at Survivor Series happened, we cannot erase the one minute that went down between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. But we could, however, look forward to the future and expect good things from Monday Night Raw.

Apart from the forgettable outing at the main event, WWE did do a good job at Survivor Series and all of this would be reflected on Raw as well.

The fall out of the pay-per-view would indeed be the major plot device of this week’s show. WWE has to answer a string of questions ahead of the show and we are going to run them down one by one in this Monday Night Raw preview.

#5 What’s next for Goldberg?

Dream match?

After his dominating win against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, it’s time for Goldberg to set his sight on the next target.

Rumours are suggesting that Goldberg would be appearing at the Royal Rumble now and even if that is the case, he needs to come out and address the fans about it. Despite the huge fan backlash on Social Media, Goldberg is unlikely to get a negative reaction from the live crowds in attendance.

In their eyes, he was a man that wanted his son to be happy and he succeeded. The blame for what happened would be on the shoulders of WWE. They have a chance to back it up on Monday and hopefully, they will.

Perhaps a Spear vs Spear battle?

#4 The implosion of best friendship?

Not a happy man

The list of Jericho had a huge impact on the Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown match. Owens got himself disqualified for using the list whereas, a stunned Chris Jericho was put to bed by Randy Orton and his RKO out of nowhere.

Not only did the list get destroyed, but it was also responsible for the elimination of both Jericho and Owens at the event.

The cracks in the relationship between Jericho and Owens are bound to be exposed once again due to the incident which happened and a full blown implosion of the friendship between the two might happen on Raw.

Letting Owens and Jericho feud now would be a good path to take as well since Owens needs a strong booking.

#3 New Women’s feud?

Will she challenge next?

Charlotte and Bayley were the survivors of Team Raw on the Raw vs. SmackDown Women’s elimination match. By doing so, WWE has shown everyone that Charlotte and Bayley are the top names from Raw for the time being and this could result in one thing: A feud between Charlotte and Bayley for the Women’s championship.

The Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks feud seems to be over after the outing at Hell in a Cell, and it makes sense as well. Bayley stepping in is good enough to capture the attention of the fans but she would need a stronger booking. Also, WWE needs to do a good job to avoid the Bayley – Sasha Banks comparisons in this feud.

#2 Punishment for Survivor Series?

How will Stephanie treat Reigns and Rollins?

Out of the three Raw vs. SmackDown matches that happened at Survivor Series, Team Raw managed to win two and lost one. The one that they lost, however, was the most important one. A lot of things contributed to the defeat and as Stephanie had threatened the team before Survivor Series, there could be repercussions for the defeat.

Stephanie and Mick Foley are bound to address their team members on Raw at some point after what happened on Sunday and during the segment, they could also unveil the future plans that WWE has for each superstar.

Be it punishment or push, winners and losers of Survivor Series are going to be under the spotlight on Raw.

#1 Cesaro and Sheamus get their shot

Can they get the gold on Monday?

Cesaro and Sheamus turned out to be two of the biggest winners from Survivor Series.

The duo led Team Raw to a commanding win over Team SmackDown on Sunday night and showed that they have what it takes to carry the gold around their waists. Cesaro and Sheamus would have a chance to do just that on Monday as they would be going up against the New Day in a Tag Team championship match.

WWE had been building up the team for this moment and don’t be surprised if WWE lets New Day drop the titles to Sheamus and Cesaro.

The record-breaking run of New Day seems to have run its course and Cesaro and Sheamus could freshen things up in the division unless, of course, the WWE would want them to take over Demolition’s record, which at 478 days compared to New Day’s 456, leaves only 22 more days between them.
