WWE News: Bin Wang to make his WWE debut

The Chinese Bin Wang will make his in-ring debut in Shanghai, next month

WWE.com has announced that Bin Wang, the company’s first Chinese recruit, will make his in-ring debut at the WWE live event in Shanghai on September 10th. The 22-year-old’s first appearance for WWE will be in front of his home crowd at the Mercedes-Benz Arena against Bo Dallas.

Wang, 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, signed a WWE development contract in June, giving him the opportunity to train at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. He will now be part of a Live Event featuring John Cena, Roman Reigns, Big Show, and Sasha Banks.

“It will be a great honor to make my WWE debut in my home nation,” said Wang. “I recognize I am not only representing myself, but everyone in China, and I am committed to making them proud as I continue on the journey in becoming the first-ever Chinese WWE Superstar.”

In a video posted on Twitter, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative, said Wang will display the tremendous progress he has made in the ring since joining the Performance Center two months ago.

We will now see how the WWE’s newest Superstar will perform in front of his home fans at the Mercedez-Benz Arena in Shanghai. Wang will likely need time, given his brief experience in the wrestling ring, and to adjust to the American style. It is unknown if he can speak English as well, which is a norm for cutting promos.

When Wang does show up on September 10th , it will be a historic moment for their fans.

As for WWE, they are continuing to go global with their talent acquisitions. They are trying to build a bigger audience in European and Asian countries by signing all the international names. Bringing in stars like Tommy End, Nicole Glencross (formerly Nikki Storm), Shane Thorne, Nick Miller (formerly Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls), apart from bringing in all these talents for the WWE Cruiserweight Classic will help reach untapped audiences.

As noted, WWE Live China is at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Shanghai, on Saturday, Sept. 10, and tickets are available from www.gewara.com
